Guess it's been leaked that two former 'hawks will not be given a QO, Rangers Brandon Pirri and Adam Clendening. This according to ProHockeyRumors.com

Please Stanbo do not bring them back here...

Pirri would look really good centering for Kane. (Red font). Incidentally auto correct changed his name to "Porridge" which might not be a perfect nickname but I kind of like it.

Now that it appears that AA is going to be moved, I wonder what the return will be? Do we try for another top 6 LW? C? D? Going to be interesting.

i'd like to see AA/Krugs to VGK for Karlsson (or Lundberg) and Nate Schmidt

Evander Kane is a gamble, more off the ice than on the ice. He has missed a lot of games due to injury over the years so even if he's a boy scout off the ice - no guarantee - he's no good to the team if he's out due to injury.

Plus, giving up a center (Anisimov) for a wing (E.Kane) when the Hawks aren't exactly stacked down the middle is cause for concern. Anisimov leaves a little to be desired at the dot but he's big, plays defense and is reliable.

All that said, the Hawks have to unload salary and Kruger and Anisimov appear to be the most likely candidates. Kane's cap hit is $5.25M is more then Anisimov's $4.55M so a one for one trade won't meet the Hawks objective of reducing Cap. Since Anisimov has 4 more years on his deal and Kane has only 1 year before he's UFA, so maybe Buffalo is willing to retain 50% and make the salary cap exchange $4.45M - $2.625M for a $1.825M cap savings. Buffalo has the cap space and can justify retaining 50% of Kane's salary because they get an additional 3 years at a lower cap hit with Anisimov versus only 1 year of Kane before he hits UFA.

That cap reduction along with trading Kruger may get the Hawks just in under the wire.

He wasn't attacking her personally, but that tweet was loaded with no sources to back it up.

I agree with this.

Love Saad for Panarin. That is a gift to me. Panarin can drain Columbus' piggy bank and provide highlight reel one-timers and no cups.

Hjalmarsson is a pillar of the cup teams. But I see the logistics of the move, and maybe, just maybe, Murphy grows into what he was expected to be. This is where coaching becomes crucial. Still my biggest beef with this team. Coaching.

Wrong.

if you played hockey at any level above peewee, tell me how speed is not a factor. With specifics. Please.

And fancy stats are only valuable when you consider context. See the post above.

Foot-speed is one thing. Speed in hockey is completely different. The lame cliche about speed being equated to one individual player being faster on skates compared to another has little to do with how fast a team is able to transition, with how fast a team is able to break out, etc. Foot-speed helps, but the overall "speed" of a team that people talk about (Pens) has very little to do with foot-speed.

Yeah, I play hockey. uh..do you?
