Think it was two years ago and Bob was out and Korpisallo was playing well but went into a funk and Forsberg got a few games. I saw those games and the kid looked very good. Big, mobile and technical. Went back down and won a cup in the AHL.... I really think they had Korpo penciled in as the #2 in the organIzation until that year but Forseberg made them look at that again. Kid has the look and game. - Mr Ricochet
He is a classic butterfly guy, extremely confident and aggressive—a little like Craig Anderson when he first came up and before he adjusted his style.
I have to think Waite weighed in on this and saw some things he likes, and Waite is a great butterfly coach. Don't think Darling's millions aren't somewhat traceable to the work Waite did with him the ladt couple of years. |

I think JJ does a terrific job in many ways. All the time.

Maybe Ulf had some kind of say in Murphy, itll be interesting to see how that turns out.
Hawks no doubt looking at all options going into tonight. Gotta believe they try and get someone to announce on the big stage with everyone watching. Especially after the negative reaction from fans on Hammer.
Anisimov, Kruger, Seabrook are only guys left that could move right? Seabs obviously very unlikely but besides those three is there anyone else that could? MAYBE Hossa to a floor team? Dunno if thats on the table.

One man's trash is another man's treasure. I have watched Saad closely with two teams. He is a true two-way forward and like Hossa, very refined in his approach, and he has one thing panariun doesn't, he can fly.
Panarin, I said the other day here, made snese for CBJ because they need that elite socrer off the wing.
For goals and production in terms of points, I take Panarin. For a two-way winger, and game changing speed, I take Saad.
CBJ's system, IMO did not take full advtantage of Saad like Chicago's did. The stretch pass is back in Chicago. After a two year hiatus. Watch Toews and Keith's numbers go up. - John Jaeckel
He and Panik, to a lesser degree, can help stretch the ice for Chi. Seems both teams got exactly what they needed. I was all for swapping Breadman if it meant a few less points and guy who is better at driving possession & retrieving pucks. Saad is close to perfect for that IMO |

TJ Oshie being strongly considered to replace Panarin and play with Kane. May have to take less money. #Blackhawks will sell chance to win - TommyHawk

Indeed. I cannot forget his short handed goals against Ducks in 2015 in very tight series, which also deflated Ducks PP. No Saad, no 2015 championship. Very happy for this trade, would do this in a heartbeat. - vshun
Saad's speed on the game winner in 2015 also comes to mind.

This type of play will help on the PK too. Will miss Panarin but Saad is a better fit here.

I find this highly unlikely. Oshie will want years and is already 30 years old. Hawks aren't going to add another long contract, regardless of the cap hit, unless the player is younger and potentially tradable as needed. |

Like the panarin trade we got a back up goaltender got rid of a midget in motte who I think is just a ahler. Panarin rubbed me wrong with his dedication the Hjalmasson trade I don't like I know he is older bit id rather have gotten schenn or deangelo and dauphin hasn't impressed in the nhl yet. |

Gordie Murphy's son seemed to be more comfortable on Arizona's backline this last season, they other years he looked hesitant and slow in his decisions, movement.
Q's good buddy was the head coach there until getting fired; I wonder if he was in on a consultation.
All I have to say is Forsberg better be the real deal.
If I was rebuilding and you asked me whether I wanted to start with Panarin (and his two playoff performances) or Saader, I wouldn't pick Saad. A goal and three points in this year's playoff in five games IS better than Artemi's on PP assists and a minus 4 but...
as far as the parts,
here's what I thought when they came out:
https://www.draftsite.com...er/laurent-dauphin/19833/
https://www.draftsite.com...ayer/connor-murphy/16931/
i can see why they didn't wait until the draft...they would have been booed out of their home arena, Vap solution or no.... - wiz1901
I could swear I remember you talking up Dauphin for the Hawks that year. Maybe not. But I know the Hawks liked him with their late second rounder.

Not sure whether this is a factor or not on why Kruger hasn't been dealt yet, but he's got a $2M SB payable July 1...

I think Hossa to a floor team will happen. Probably after the NHL gives the official blessing. LTIR isn't ideal, it will get the Hawks under the cap but takes away a ton of flexibility from Bowman. Plus from a floor team it's not often you get a $5+ mil cap hit for the low low cost of $1mil

Wennberg getting him the puck? He'll light it up in Columbus.
THAT, at the least, I think was a nice value for value trade for both clubs. If Forsberg is what i think the Hawks are hoping, slight win for CHicago. - John Jaeckel
I like Wennberg ... a lot |

Hawks should send Hossa and like $2-$3M cash to make sure it gets done. |

Hes chasing a Cup now. Didnt happen in STL, now not with WSH. A chance nonetheless. Must be a serious discussion if Strickland posts to his twitter about it as his third post in last three days. |

In fairness to me, I brought up trading Panarin day 1 of the off season. And revamp the second line while being sure Toews has all he needs
But the real question is, if Keith Tkachuk will be at the draft this year and how much bigger did he get? |

No one saw Saad coming, no one saw Hossa being gone for at least a year either but you did mention Panarin going which I didn't think would happen but this trade fits the Hawks needs perfectly.
One line has scored close to 40% of the goals on avg. the past 2 seasons ...And the last time I checked there were 2-1st round losses. Hawks need to add more on the blueline but they got better in a few ways today. |

Hey Tommy...this is intriguing - only concern would be injury history...I'm wondering who else they're going to look at for bottom 6? I mentioned Wingles...any thoughts...
and A man mentioned Jumbo Joe...some interesting scenarios here. Gotta move AA's contract next. |

Oshie is not happening. No chance. TJ is going to want years in exchange for dollars, the Hawks can't commit to years with more aging guys. |

Knowitall pissant hasn't seen a click from me for at least half a year. HB really lowers the threshold with that parody as a blogger for multiple teams. Only 3-5 here worth reading as it is. |
