I doubt the Devils land Alex Galchenyuk (Mtl) since they don't have much to offer in return. My hope is that Mtl waits until July 1st at which time the Devs could sign and deal Kovy (and a future pick) for him.

Just saw another Makar rumor a few seconds ago. How could LV and Devils assume Makar will be available at 6. I have seen several mocks where he is gone at 3. Hopefully it is smoke.

Dallas/ Colorado grab Heiskanen and Makar in all likelihood. Definitely don't see him getting past Vancouver. Six probably gets you Glass/Vilardi or Middlestadt.

I agree, if there is anything to the Makar rumors I see us getting to #3 with Vegas at #1 and Dallas at #6, Dallas probably adding a d-man from Vegas and us adding additional picks, or one of the better young players from Vegas.

What the Rags just did made me uneasy. Got the 7th overall, which you know they are going to trade. Picked up a young D in DeAngelo and opened more cap space. (frank).

If NJ deals for Galchenyuk, as Montreal, I'd only want Zacha and a draft pick (2nd round) or the 1st overall, which isn't going to happen.

That is, unless the teams wait a week, NJ signs Kovy, and they do a much bigger trade in which both teams get a face lift...

I just think Galchenyuk is overrated because he plays on a Canadian team,his "value" is over blown. Yes he was a top 3pick, but he is a 2nd line LWer and I hope Shero doesn't trade the 1st for him.

They are down 2 centers in 2 days. freed up some cap space, hopefully they splurge on Shattenkirk. I don't know how this deal helps them next year though, unless they do something else big they are worse off. The queen will not be happy.

Zacha is a center and they probably valued that position over D at the time. Now that NJ is drafting a center, Zacha becomes expendable.

Zacha was drafted as a center,but looked more comfortable on the wing this year. You need 12 forwards in the NHL, right? So how does trading a 19 YO help with that? I think Santini and a pick are more expendable seeing as Santini won't produce much and will be a top 4 defensive dman.
