I would be thrilled to be wrong about this. My worst fear is this crap dragging out all day, week, summer long. - eichiefs9
This reminds me of the Kovy trade back in the day. It looked like it was a done deal and I wake up early the next morning and nothing. |

Yes, every draft pick has value. However they drop off pretty quickly.
We've been saying for years that Snow needs to do something. It looks like he's finally trying. Let's see how it plays out. I'm not optimistic, but we can't judge until we see the final product. - JimmyP
Look, I love the fact he protected the players they wanted and I actually wanted him to do that. Wanted Hickey to go for a 2nd, but we don't know if McPhee goes for that?
I just think looking at what others gave it's steeper than we all thought.
That's minimal in this whole equation if he goes out and gets proven nhlers not projects then everyone will forget about it. If not and JT leaves those draft choices and assets he uses/used in the trades are missed even more.
I'm hoping for all of us that have stood by this team for decades he gets it right and we can all feel good about our team again.

You have to think deals will be announced pretty quickly.
The Caps set, exp draft is over and McPhee is sitting there with assets he can move.
That said you right we probably will go through another month of hell, waiting.

I totally get fans being worried and not loving this trade right now. Let's not pretend the Isles have been a well run team for years and fans are just being irrational. |

Yes, but no other team had an UFA that already announced he wants to move drafted.
We'll see what happens. I can see a lot of ways it goes bad. I'm not getting my hopes up, but I'm not getting angry until I see the final result. |

Can confirm from my Colorado source a deal has fell thru with the Oilers. Av's and Oilers both have deals in place with Islanders.
Is this guy legit?? |

Detroit gave up the 15th pick in last years draft (a good one) to get rid of datsyuk's contract - Dan Petriw
Not quite. Datsyuk and 17th OA for AZI 21st OA (back four spots) and ARI 2nd. Holland made out like a bandit. |

Based on what's been reported it seems more likely that Strome might go for Eberle.
Hamonic would probably be part of a Duchene or Galchenyuk deal. TSN guys were saying that Snow's price for Hamonic was very high. - eichiefs9
Buyer beware. Eberle is not worth that much. Seriously, $6M AAV for 20 goals (on McDavid's wing) and 0 in the playoffs. He is a salary dump!! |

Not too sure why a few people are kinda freaking out about this.
obviously losing Berube is a fine thing. Who cares about Bischoff...who cares about the 2019 2nd rounder...losing Grabo is great.
So its the 2017 1st that people are upset about? Is that really gonna be the missing piece to landing Duchene? If that deal is gonna get done and is meant to be, then itll get done another way, like the trade assets we kept by giving away that pick.

So will this work out to keep JT? If not, what can justify all this loss of assets? |

Good questions. I don't think the Islanders will ever recover from the loss of Grabovski. |

I think it was 16th OA and 23th OA. Holland didn't make out like a bandit because the deal was made once Arizona knew who was available at 16: a potential superstar Dman. |

Grabs was your Cap dump which cost you that 1st rounder plus. But if the cap space and further spending of futures doesn't land a Dutch or Eberle then what? Sell the farm for Rienhart? Will any of the above get it done for signing JT now? |
