BTW , NO I DO NOT AGREE

they are not COMPLETE bullpoop.

And you are correct on one thing only, I don't have to like you..and I certainly don't agree with you.

- Makita

Come on, man. If you're going to try to play devil's advocate for the sake of standing up for a fellow Canucks fan at least try to do a believable job.

There are literally DOZENS of more talented and more valuable D-men than Tanev... D-O-Z-E-N-S!! A D who has pretty much missed a full season with his injuries over the past four seasons. Availability however, is a different thing all together. That said, can you honestly sit there and agree that Tanev alone is worth the 3OA + an "A" prospect?

No. Chance. In. Hell.

That's all I was saying and it's now been totally blown out of proportion, which sadly has more to do with my team affiliation than my actual opinion, as usual around here.

Like this draft, we are all over the place on what we are hoping for. Most are happy with Glass or Vilardi, some want Petersen or Mittelstadt, a few want Makar or Heiskanen, yet other want to trade up or down.
The only for sure thing here is we will be trolled by Leafs fans, some of us will over-value our players, Some will flip-flop their opinion daily, some will argue about anything.

The only for sure thing here is Makita is a good Moderator and most importantly, WE have the BEST blogger in Carol.

If Dallas is willing to move Honka then I'd say the 3rd doesn't have to be involved. I know not everyone here follows other team's prospects as closely but if he was drafted by the Canucks, a lot of us would value him equal to or even higher than Juolevi.
- Nucker101

Doubt they trade Honka for another D when they have Nichuskin's rights to dangle. But either way you are overvaluing the prospect to undervalue the proven player which isn't something teams let go of often. Value in trades has to do with rarity of the asset as much as whatever you think the player does in impact to a team. The common movement of prospects is what competitive teams usually dangle for trade. But a top D in his early prime with a budget contract is rarely available.

Not sure if anyone has posted this...

Benning on drafting a defenseman: "A guy that can run the power-play and has a hard shot and gets it on net - that's a need." #Canucks

Benning on Cale Makar: "It's his ability to skate and jump up in the play, and his shot from the point - he has a hard, accurate shot."

These quotes together make me worried.

Good chance he might be gone before we pick.
What is your take on that?

BS MR. poor little victim, it has more to do with your post in the Leafs blog that started this whole silly bugger crap, you can piss off and evaluate all you superstar players the way you want. I'll evaluate Tanev the way I want, Tanev alone is worth the 3rd OA in this draft, this year, if another poster wants to add a "A" prospect so be it, if another poster want more so be it.

I was just listening to a mock draft show on The Hockey News and they have the Canucks taking Yamamoto at 5oa.

Then I'm more than ok to see him stay, and didn't we just read a media report that Benning wants a 1st and a prospect, so I guess he will be disappointed also.

JB can hold out & wait for the TDL if nobody makes a good offer.

What if Buffalo offered the 8th and 37th picks for the 5th pick because they loved whichever dman was available at 5? We'd get another high second rounder plus we can take whichever centre (Glass, Pettersson, or Mittlestadt) if still there at 8... I guess it comes down to whether Jimbo is set on picking a centre or BPA at 5.
- nucks_94

That would be ok. Guess it comes down to how bad Buffaloo wants a d.
Circle back to Tanev for the same deal IMO

you'll go nuts listening to them on anything about the Canucks. This was same group that reported few weeks back that Cole Cassels was one of the Canuck's star prospects.

Can't wait for your scathing posts during the season when Green works in all these Canuck prospects into the line up.

Scathing? I am not passionate enough about the Canucks or things outside of my control to make scathing posts

It is definitely my preference to develop slower and bring in cheap UFA stop-gap players for those low minute roster spots, but if they don't, I'll still tune in and hope its entertaining

just going with the theme of bashing all things Canucks But yeah you won't get anymore stop gaps as they are already full with that on the roster. Green has been mandated to work in the prospects and have them earn ice time this season. If that's by way of a rotating train with Utica or ride a guy hard like Stecher was we shall see. But either way that's how they will develop players by having youth in the line up.
