Some interesting guys left unprotected, like James Neal from Nashville, Cammalleri from NJ and Grabner from the Rangers.

Interestingly, the Islanders protect 5 D and 3 Forwards. Source indicates Isles will give up a 1st round pick to keep Vegas off forwards.

Wow

Really disappointed they protected Sutter. This was a great chance to maybe get out of that contract. Plus id prefer to make their options between Sbisa and Sutter for cap purposes.

Kind of makes sense as they think their window is now even though they wont be good enough anyway. Much easier to replace a forward than a decent Dman, so I get the logic but giving up the 1st is a bit much just accept it and look to within or free agency to fill the hole. If not use the 1st to acquire a new player even.

On Twitter it says there is believed to be a deal between the Islanders and Knights where New York gives up it's first round pick to protect certain forwards from being picked by Vegas.

Sutter is 2.6 mil cheaper than Hank and fter this year there would be only one center (Bo ) if you moved Sutter. I am sure Sutter will be willing to be traded in two years.

They will end up picking up 3-5 first round picks and have Fluery as a goalie and Brodin on the back end . They will be better than us

They dont have much to protect and are probably trying to steer them towards Pouliot for cap purposes

Granlund is a center. Gaudette next year. 5th OA might be able to make the jump next year. Sedins might be back Can always sign a center on a 1-2 year deal for what sutter provides.

Any chance to get out from LE or Sutter we should take it. 11 million in cap space in those 2 is gross.

Brenden Dillon unprotected by the Sharks, probably picked up by the Knights. Benning gives up a 1st and 2nd round pick for the same player Vegas gets for free

Surprised Minny didnt deal him for a similar prospect kinda like Tbay and Montreal.

Im sure a 1st next year going to LV for additional protection.
