Hypothetically, let's assume Edler would waive. Who would you rather trade? Obviously the return for Tanev would be greater. Personally, id trade Edler for a mid first and keep Tanev until the 2019 deadline - CanuckDon
I'd rather trade Edler but he doesn't have the same value. |

That's not a likely or realistic scenario so why entertain it? Move Tanev while you can and try to sign a veteran ufa dman. |

A top eight pick and a shot at drafting Pettersson along with and Glass/Mittelstadt/Makar would be phenomenal for the clubs future. - LeftCoaster
That's exactly what we need and if Benning can't do it management needs to be replaced, again |

I agree. I just hope they at least try to get Edler to waive to see if it's a possibility. |

It might be easier to move Edler after the Sedin's are gone. |

I'm not to sure about most people, but I'm constantly in disagreement with my bosses, and I sometimes win and sometimes lose. But...if I'm told to follow a certain format l will shrug and say ok.
Now I could say F you and walk away from my job, but to what extent would I gain anything from being obstinate.
The same goes for Benning, it's absolutely absurd to think he should give the bird to FA and walk away because some fickle fans think he should. |

If you're "constantly" in disagreement with him/her you should probably change departments. And your situation is nothing like an NHL GM....insert haha here |

One day the boss came up to me and told me how I should be doing a specific job and he wanted it done his way. I told him that we don't need to do it his way and that it would be a lot easier to do it my way.(In the most not a$$holish way) So I did it his way on one side of the machine and the opposite side my way. I took an extra day and a half taking it apart doing it his way. He came out when I was dissembling something that he thought needed to be done a different way. I let him chew me out. When he was finished I said why don't you come and have a look at this. He did and realized that how he wanted it done would not work. This was still the side of the machine I was to do his way. He said carry on with my way. I said I already did and to look at the other side of the machine. He went over and realized that I had already completed it my way worked in a quarter of the time. He had a little egg on his face.
A good boss knows when he has made a mistake and when its time to apologize and take a step back and let the people he hired do their job.
A good working relationship always has give and take. You don't have to like each other but if you respect your boss and he respects you that is good enough. |

Actually, i agree.
Edler is older tho and is paid more and has a NTC, so, he has less trade value.
But yes, Edler > Tanev. |

it was a comment in reference to some saying Edler has less value, to which i would say if he agreed to a trade then he should have more value. |

with the trade freeze on right now and only deals with Las Vegas being allowed would that also include possible 3-way deals? |

He doesn't want to leave and the team still has need or use for him. Not easily replaced at this time. But LE could be leaned on. He's not entrenched here. Hard part is finding the takers. You think Stars would take him back? |

Yes if Vegas is in the middle. But it's the reverse threeway rules where the one in the middle isn't getting f@cked |

Something like:
Tanev to Dallas
Lehtonen to LVK
3OA & LVK 3rd to Van
Canucks are never that lucky. |
