tbh I like him more with TB, I really like that team, if they pump out a top 3 of Hedman/Stralman/Sergachev.... watch out. Stamkos stays healthy (kucherov has come into his own as well), no more Drouin to deal with, they could end up being a threat again. |

You should be channeling your anger and frustration towards Calgary management.
Holy f*ck, what are they doing!!! - Marwood
They have a few young goalies coming but not ready ...they gave up (frank) all for a starting goalie ...fleury wasn't available |

Miller is a much better option on a on year deal though, hell even Halak.
Smith so bad, and not even in his prime anymore. Though between Calgarys responsible forwards, and their decent defensive corps.... smith could do well for a year or two. |

2 years at just over 4 mill is decent to pay a goalie ....he is a lot like a miller ...getting older but has been bailing out a bad team for years now ...he wasn't my first choice but we didn't give up anything that I value and we have 2-3 goalies coming up |

Great quote by Todd Cordell: "Smith is a mediocre, old, goaltender who probably won't solidify the net as much as anyone would like."

I'd rather sign someone for free than pay that. Not like Smith is some clear upgrade compared to the UFA's. His career sv% numbers are mediocre. At least he's better in the playoffs than Elliott I guess....
I don't mind seeing the Flames continue to burn picks on goalies though |

Oh I agree, but still a 3rd for Beaulieu? Buff or whomever got a great deal.

I think there were better options for sure. Still think Condon would have been best option. Flames will need to reassess in 2 years and hope one of their prospects is ready |

Expansion draft looming hurt his trade value. Probably would have gotten a 2nd otherwise |
