Unbelievable how the Pens won last night.

Hope it is over soon fast.
Let's get to the wheeling and dealing!

You know as soon as that entry occurred, the coach was ready. My problem, in addition to the inconclusive nature of the replay (at least the ones I've seen), is the fact that the Pens had possession of the puck. Once that happened, should the idea of an offside have been null and void?

I mean, taken to logical extremes, if the play from that point of entry on should have never happened, what if the Pens had retained control, exited the zone and gone on to score, could Nashville have challenged the play of their own entry to overturn the call?

This is the part that really pisses me off.

I asked this same question. Apparently, once the zone has been successfully cleared, you cannot challenge the prior zone entry.

Is there a chance NJ doesn't take Nolan Patrick number one? I thought this was a slam dunk but maybe it isn't?
- Marc D

I feel if the injury history checks out that Patrick isn't a high risk for reoccurring abdominal injuries, I don't see Shero passing on Patrick. Not meant to be a slight on Hischier. I get the feeling from reading what Shero has publically spoken about Patrick, he would need something significant not to take Patrick. IMO, there are little details added to the mix which I feel would sway Shero to take Patrick if the injury history is minimized.

My idea was that, if you're trailing by 1late in a game and you give up an EN goal, just challenge the last questionable zone entry that you had (that occurred after the last prior stoppage) and try to argue that you were offsides.

Yep, it's like they got rewarded for NOT clearing the zone after they gained possession.

No one else concerned about Lindblom? His quote didn't exactly sound like he's eager to play in the NHL this season. I'm also wondering if he wants a guaranteed roster spot.

I think the biggest thing that we can take away from Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals is that "Disrupting a Meeting" is a criminal offense in Pittsburgh.

What quote?

The kid told his team he isn't coming back. Seems like he is intent on coming over.

This qoute

"We'll see how it goes. Obviously, everyone wants to play in the NHL," Lindblom said. "If I go over, there'll be a battle to take a roster spot [on the NHL team]. But there's a hard summer [of training] first."

I see a "If" i go over, not an "I intend"....I also see a battle for roster spot line as well.

Someone obviously interpreted it wrong. The exact quote, correctly interpreted, was:

"I'm not going over to North America unless I'm gifted a top-3 role with max incentives. I'm 21 and I've paid my dues and now I'm getting what I'm owed. If not, the Philadelphia Flyers can kiss my ass."

Much concern for me.

I take it as someone being PC. he doesn't have an ELC with the Flyers yet so he needs that before he can come over.

Lets not be a richard now, just saying curious what the hold up is. And however you want to read the quote, nothing in it guarantees he's coming over.

Of course nothing does. And until he signs the contract, boards a plan, and shows up to training camp, nothing will.

What you actually see is a 20-year-old coached by his agent on what to say until the deal is done. The Lindblom camp holds leverage to up the price a bit since they have the ability to have him play one more year in Europe then become a UFA free to sign with any NHL team -- not that they have any actual intention of doing so, but the option is there.

It's really no different than when Shayne Gostisbehere had a senior year at Union and potential UFA status as leverage to get a sweeter signing bonus before his inevitable and totally expected (except for some easily worried Flyers fans) decision to sign a couple days after the two sides sat down to seriously negotiate.

Relax.... Lindblom is coming over for next season.
