i dont like the whole notion of challenging over a single inch. it gets away from the spirit of the rule and ruins game flow. so if people are annoyed with that sequence, i totally understand it and if i view it from an objective perspective, am inclined to agree.

that being said, by the letter of the rule, he was offsides.

Rinne (frank)ed that PK. he squeezes there and they kill an absolutely abysmal attempt by the pens at setting up a five on three.

i usually take this stuff in stride and just enjoy watching the games but this is hard to watch.
if the NHL wants to attract more viewers they need to take a hard look at the rules they have in place.
how many casual or first time watchers changed the channel during that ridiculous review of Subbans goal?

I don't have a horse in this race and don't really care who wins. I'm only interested in watching well played and well officiated games.

That said, unless the league had a less grainy pic or a camera shot along the ice at the blue line, from the angles shown on TV, it was not conclusive.

DROUIN:

IF Tampa trades Drouin it's largely because he's due for a big raise. The Flyers already have plenty of big dollar forwards filling out our top 9. We need cheap talent on ELCs and our upcoming D prospects provide that. I don't expect to see any of our young D traded for any established forwards, especially not players with a history of big time drama like Drouin.
