Juolevi was a really good prospect - had a mediocre season - digressed. Has potential - but I wouldn't rush to call him a top ten prospect.

benning will put him in the top 4 next year with their 'nhl' club and destroy his confidence.

Leafs will have the two newcomers from Sweden as well.

Adding Dermott, Nielsen, Borgman and Rosen to camp along with whoever they pick up at times mentioned above should make for good competition for spots, coupled with players that are waiver exempt means multiple people could get a short look with the big club.

All in all, I can't see the D being any worse than it was last year.

ya I think they make a pre exspantion draft trade with non protection players prospect /pick and a free agent signing for a 5/6 dman and an offseason roster player trade,imho

Oh for sure those guys are not going anywhere! It would be a sideways move at best I don't believe that any forwards except jvr is going to be traded, I'd like to keep him but with a new contract coming up at what cost?packaging him with pick /prospects is going to be the way to go!

You could be right! But I do think that with 3 new dmen traded for and free agent signing, it would allow them to (Neilson Dermott )to fully develope and the two swedes to assimilate to the nhl style of play!imo

Still think Leafs will make a play for 2 d-men for the roster, just won't involve either Nylander or Marner. Three top level NHL players in the lineup on entry level deals - is unique. I'm sure Boston/Montreal/Vancouver/Buffalo/NJ/NYR/Ottawa would have been thrilled to have Connor Brown's 20 goals and he's probably fifth on the Leaf's rookie list. No wonder Leaf fans fell asleep most nights with big smile on their face even if they didn't get laid.

I feel they will stay with the youth movement. Any decent prospect will be held onto. Build the farm up strong and draw from that. I expect them to pick up a few D men, bring them to camp and cut the ones that they don't want. I doubt they go after another teams #1 D man..

This is pretty much how I see it too. The guys they just signed are most likely for depth and might get a game or 2 in NHL depending on injuries.
