So JB says he wants a playing making center.
Who does that sound more out of Mittlestadt, Vilardi and Glass?!? - Nuck4U
its been awhile since I watched footage so Im not sure who the better playmaker is but I think mittelstadt is the more talented, best shot etc of the 3 |

If I am Vegas I take McEneny. Defenseman with upside compared to the garbage being exposed by Canucks. - Reubenkincade
Does he have a future in the NHL though? Likely not, whereas it's pretty easy to see Gaunce in a 4th line role for years |

Do is right . You want Canucks to get rid of good contracts and good players for bad contracts and bad players and picks and prospects.
You can't shed if you are taking on the same salaries back - VANTEL
He doesn't know what he wants which was my point. Every day he is on here demanding something different |

Good contracts? I never said I want to get rid of good contracts, I'd want him to get rid of contracts like Sutter and Sbisa.
Edmonton needs a 3rd line center and Sutter is an Alberta wussy, send him home, take Mark Fayne back and get a 2nd or 3rd round pick for it...saves you a million bucks and it does the Oilers a favor. A win-win if you will.
Trade Sbisa for a 3rd round pick to or hope he gets taken by Vegas.
That's just an example of creative book keeping.
A concept which apparently flies over Donna's head??? |

During the season I thought it would be 100% Sbisa gone but I'm thinking now it could be either of the 2. Wouldn't be shocked either way |

I would think Vegas will talk to some UFAs before the expansion draft like Alzner Stattenkirk Del Zotto Russell |

Who is paying a 3rd for Sbisa? why don't we give Edmonton a 3rd to take Sbisa off our hands and then take Niemis contract in exchange for a 3rd
We are stuck with any of our bad contracts....it is what it is |

I can see Gaunce also. I was just trying to get people to stop fantasizing about Sbisa/Dorsett being claimed. Also Vegas can afford to take a gamble on a few players like McEneny, as they don't have to worry about trying to fill up a farm team, so I expect to see them flipping a few older assets and try get a nice mix of youth and vets in lineup. |

A better manager could find a way....that's the point. It's not impossible, as you make it out to be.
BTW....Arizona had a terrible defense last year, they may take a flier on Sbisa, they took a chance on Luke Schenn. |

Vancouver has crap to offer and Gaunce is the youngest. Before the season I thought Rodin might be one they would target but since he played 3 games, I am sure they will pass |

They could probably trade Sutter but they love the guy. Most of our bad contracts are almost over...Sedins etc. Erickson we are stuck with |

I think you can wipe out about 80 % of teams wanting to talk Sbisa and his salary. Maybe at TDL but it is a lot of money for what he brings and on top of that teams need to protect 3 D . At the draft maybe but most teams don't even know who he is.
I think Benning likes Sutter and will use him as a leader when the twins go for two more years.
The only real tradable ones are Hutton and Tanev. Edler if he waived but I won't hold my breath. |

We're talking about what should happen, not what will happen. If the Canucks had good managers they'd trade Sutter, his 4+ million dollar salary has helped the team finish 2nd and 3rd last in the past two years. He's a decent third line center on a much better team but he's crap for the Canucks. |

I highly doubt JB is calling those teams because those teams would tell JB to f*ck off. Teams don't want to disclose who they are going after. It wouldn't be beneficial to them. - Codes1087
GMs do talk about that stuff...thats why they arrange fishing trips etc
Sometimes they arent honest though either.
When burke drafted the sedins he told Atlanta he wanted Stephan badly, it was a ploy so he wouldnt take a sedin with the #1oa. Sure enough atlanta picked Stephan 1oa leaving both sedins for 2 &3oa. |

No body is helping. We finished 24 th when Sutter wasn't here or Gudbrandson.
This is a bad team that has been free falling since 2012 . Players leave here and flourish and good players come here and suffocate.
Torts said it best , this a a stale team that needs a change . They have changed some personnel but the style is the same.
There are so many bad things about this team itis like trying to plug a Swiss Cheese dyke. |
