It would be nice if we take on a contract, that it would be from a team like Tampa who have several interesting forward prospects. Dallas isn't quite as appealing prospect wise. - Reubenkincade
Yup I agree there, it was just a thought. Probably better options out there. It's the concept that I was getting at. Rebuilding teams need to take advantage of cap space to acquire assets. |

Im sure JB is talking to GMs with picks 1-4 to see what theyre intending on taking so he has an idea of who's available at 5 |

Picks. Load up on picks.
Don't re-sign Miller. Take a goaltender off of Dallas' hands for some decent picks. |

Hell I'd be happy with Anaheim's pick this year in the first round which belongs to Dallas now. |

Seriously dude stop living in fantasyland.
Arizona next year has 17 players signed in 2018 and 26 mil in cap room . They have no big name RFAs to re-sign . They pick up other teams scraps and waiver players and this is the model you want to follow?
Big deal they picked up two prospects . By the time they need a raise they will trade them off and do more dumpster dining. |

When they get rid of Sbisa that's an additional 3.6 million in cap space. If they get rid of Sutter (that POS candyass) they'd save even more cap space. - LeftCoaster
Sbisa, Tanev and Edler have contracts that could be used to acquire bad money and assets. Fingers crossed
Also for what its worth, Cullen's "Offseason Game Plan" for Vegas has them taking Gaunce for 5th line wing rather than taking Sbisa's contract

It's not about Arizona, it's about the concept of utilizing cap space to help you rebuild, thus I disagree with you. |

When all is said and done we will have about 3-5 mil left. If you sign Niemi you have zero wiggle room for any other contracts that could be had.
Sign a guy like Franson for two mil and trade him at TDL |

I expect Benning to shed some salary this summer, and if I was Francesco, I'd be demanding it. |

I highly doubt JB is calling those teams because those teams would tell JB to f*ck off. Teams don't want to disclose who they are going after. It wouldn't be beneficial to them. |

We have lots of garbage . Most teams don't want it. Tanev Hutton have value but little else. |

Taking on a contract has been going on for decades. Cash strapped teams would trade their good players because of finances(anyone remember the Gretzky trade). Some recent examples have been Carolina, Arizona and that eastern team that name shall not be mentioned.
The concept is the same just done differently in the cap-Era. |

If I am Vegas I take McEneny. Defenseman with upside compared to the garbage being exposed by Canucks. |

Do is right . You want Canucks to get rid of good contracts and good players for bad contracts and bad players and picks and prospects.
You can't shed if you are taking on the same salaries back |
