I bet Tim Murray is kickin himself in the ass for some of the things he did in Buffalo, primarily drafting Sam Reinhart ahead of Leon Draisaitl....wow did he swing and miss there!!!

Really so that means Vancouver isn't for ten?to...

3 years away from being 3 years away. It is what it is.

Don't skew your vision on the Leafs however…they aren't as far along as most think.

The Sens do not suck. They are in the conference final and you chumps are out
- CanuckDon

The Sens do not suck. However I like the Leafs future better considering all aspects of the organization.

Don't forget for a second that winning the Matthews lottery was the luckiest thing that has EVER happened to your franchise. You guys could have ended up with Pierre Luc Dubois in a fawking heartbeat!!! I don't think you'd be in here today acting like Holyfield on coke if that were the case. Do you need reminding where you're team spent that last 10 years?
- Brooks_Light

Nope. Pretty sure it will be the same place yours will be spending the next 10.

I don't know Humongous. I could easily see some injuries and sophomore slumps causing the Leafs to take a step back next season, but they are on the right track.

You're reading too much into +/-. It really is the most debatable stat in all of hockey. There is so many variables with it. Factor in the forwards with the Canucks. How would a player like Burns do with a forward line of Cramarossa, Shore, and Chaput compared to a forward line of Thorton, Pavelski and Marleau. There is just way too many variables into the +/- stat which pretty much renders it near useless.
- Codes1087

Like many stats it is subjective, but banned...no. It gives you a quick snapshot of what transpired during a game, season or career just like any stat tends to do.

Carol dared to mention that the Leafs are looking for a defense-man and Tanev might fill that bill.

Now we have a pile of so called hockey experts from the Leafs thinking they know how to judge player value from the comfort of their couch, spouting off.

Keep dreaming if you think your team is going to do any real damage.

And the only pleasure that will be happening here will be from me...

Too much ice-time and or bad pairing, he's a good young player! Hard to admit because he wears a Leaf sweater I know, but it's true.
- LeftCoaster

You are correct! That's been the problem playing everyone out of position we need a number 1,Reilly could be a 2, Zaitsev 3 and gard 4,and I can admit the no problem! That Vancouver is on the up swing, horvat, bose, joli, the goaltender? (Sorry forgot his name starts with a d)lol And many more! Very exciting times for Vancouver, and you'll be getting a 5th round in this draft

Leafs would benefit from Tanev to be sure. Crappy thing is they really don't have anything we need. Need to find a better trading partner for Tanev.

Reality is that Leafs aren't going to see a 2nd or 3rd round in the PO's for 4-5 years. They probably won't ever see a 4th round as it's completely alien to them. They need many many ingredients to get to the 2nd or 3rd rounds in the PO's and it will be awhile.

- LordHumungous

Huge if true.

I think there are a lot of pieces we have that a rebuilding team would need... since we are rebuilding ourselves.

The problem here is that the suggestions are just not happening.

Who do you think is a better fit, or rather who has something you want for Tanev that the Leafs don't have? Are you thinking Tampa maybe?

true, but stick any of the top 20 +/- defensemen, and put them on the Canucks for a season, they are no longer top 20 lol.

Tanev would look great in Tampa! Their closer than us to complete, they just had a off year imho,it wouldn't be for Druin but maybe?

Canucks are in dire need of elite talent. Now that your group has graduated I dont think there are prospects left with that type of ceiling. Not saying Tanev would get that type of guaranteed return, but I'd be looking for prospects like the Canuck TDL acquisitions that are still projects but appear to have the high end potential if they work out

Good Afternoon All 👋

So as usual i am listening to 1040 & of course the fickle Canuck fan is on the phone calling in. His rant about OJ being a bust ala wasted pick was laughable. Nothing is more moronic than a so-called fan with his head up his ass reading stats or is media educated. When ppl don't watch or track any player idc what garbage spews outta their piehole tbh. At least here on this blog most ppl either know the goods or ask about prospects on the Canucks or elsewhere. Sure we all don't agree on all things but yet we still discuss it & give our opinions. Don't get me wrong cuz i know no more or less than any of us here but the state of our fanbase is pathetic too often & has been like this for decades. If ppl looked at the big picture analyzing all 30 teams success & failures they would find our Canucks r better off than most over the past 10yrs give or take. Sure we have no cups but we have found success & had some good years. Considering that its more than a majority of teams can claim.

To all the diehards who have suffered through the decades lets all give the finger to the whiney call in female doges🖕

He hasn't proven that. We can't take that risk unfortunately. Especially considering its going to cost us Nylander, Marner, 1st and a prospect.

We need more of a sure thing

No you were the expert with the crystal ball! And I'm saying that if the leafs are 5 years away, then would that made Vancouver 10? Witch is ridiculous! I've been praising Vancouver for the youth and recent trades!

Any of the best players in league would look like poop on this team. Their stats would also reflect that.
When we get several quality players that will change. One player won't help this mess.

that is precisely my point though. +/- is such a ridic stat. Should never be used when comparing players from different teams.
