I would rather read your warped recollections. I think everyone would enjoy it.
- Matthews_Auston

If by warped you mean, factual, historical evidence...then yes I can provide it for you. Seriously, did you just start following the NHL this year??

Same reasons why calgary wouldn't trade tkachuck for tanev

Nah it's not the same at all ...you guys are looking for a Tanev so it's different ...we need an Andersen

Buffalo is a good example of how to (frank) up a rebuild, poorly managed, poor picks and poor trades. The Leafs on the other hand had the good fortune of winning the lottery as well as drafting well and making an excellent trade for Andersen.

Eichel and Draisaitl as your top two centers along with Rasmus Ristolainen would have been a nice start to a rebuild.

We don't need Tanev at all. We need defensemen, that is true. We need those defensemen to be able to play a full season of hockey though, not 3/4

If Tanev goes anywhere, let's throw in Edler at no extra charge. Hell Aquillini will even pay half his salary for the remainder of his contract.

Don't forget for a second that winning the Matthews lottery was the luckiest thing that has EVER happened to your franchise. You guys could have ended up with Pierre Luc Dubois in a fawking heartbeat!!! I don't think you'd be in here today acting like Holyfield on coke if that were the case. Do you need reminding where you're team spent that last 10 years?
- Brooks_Light

Blah Blah Blah... Stuff it!

"The __________ (insert team name) where lucky to have drafted __________ (insert player name) first overall." See how that works?

Somebody has to get lucky at some point, it just so happened to be the Leafs last season. Do I need to remind you that getting lucky at the draft was the first time IN DECADES that something that positive and impactful happened to this franchise?

Let's see what happens if the sabres can stay healthy ...they missed some key players for an extended period of time ...I think if their healthy and have a repeat year than you could be right

It's not the getting lucky that makes it easy to resent the leafs. It's the arrogance and overconfidence as a result of getting lucky

He hasn't proven that. We can't take that risk unfortunately. Especially considering its going to cost us Nylander, Marner, 1st and a prospect.

We need more of a sure thing

Yeah, no.

We went through all this with Luongo. Apparently there are no other options.

After years of being pissed on and kicked while the Leafs have been down, other fan bases are only getting back what they've taken so much pleasure in giving for years.

You think it's bad now? Just wait until the Leafs start to do some real damage.

I. Can't. (frank)ing. Wait.

Tanev might be a the best option out there, for a Right shooting top 4 D man.

Trouba is a much better option but the cost would be way more (Nylander won't be enough).

I would take a 1st rounder from Toronto( likely middle round pick and a decent prospect or 2nd round pick) for Tanev.

Keeping in mind I never really liked the Muffin man, but he would be a good top 4 for almost every team

That's my point, they haven't proven much yet. Not like that'll ever make a difference in how the fans treat each other

I understand your nervous, but lets just make it 2017, 2018 and 2019 first round picks in exchange for Tanev. They can be 2nd rounders in each of the seasons he doesnt play 3/4 of the games
