IMO, if he's still there at 14, at least 9 teams should fire their scouting staffs.
- DrChristianTroy

That's why it'd be "great" if he was still there to pick!

If I was Nill I would send Neimi down to Minors for one year. They would have close to 17 mil in space and 6 players to sign and probably will get Patrick . They will be better off than us this year
- VANTEL

He should dangle the anh 1st to trade Lehtonen, 5.9m extra space for 2 seasons.

I am good with this. Still think Vilardi is better than Glass though.
- Retinalz

Vilardi's knock is his skating. Someone reminded me recently is that can change with conditioning and development using Horvat as an example but for me its a no go in the top 5.

Middlestadt and Glass both skate better and have similar attributes.

And I would be happy with Glass. Definitely prefer Vilardi over Mittelstadt.

I like Rasmussen personally, if we are picking a Center

I would prefer anyone inside the top 30 projected rather than Rasmussen.

Leafs have to be the worst, and I don't think it's even close!
- LeftCoaster

In the last 5 years, they're near the best in the league.

Although, since roughly about 2014, the best picks in the league has been whatever teams picks after the Canucks.

I might take some heat for this, but from an analytic standpoint, he is awful. His point total was broken down into primary and secondary points, and PP vs ES points. The majority of his points were secondary and majority on the PP or PP 5 on 3. His point totals at even strength had him 4th line Junior pace. I know there is a need for players who can score on the PP, but to me, it is an immediate red flag to grab a player in the first round who can't produce at even strength.

Middlestadt scares me and is risk reward. I would still be fine with the pick at 5.

Glass is safe and I think he could turn into a Getzlaf type player. Which I would take in a heartbeat if I knew he would for sure. I would still be happy if he was the pick.

Vilardi does everything exceeding well...except skate. That can improve and I would still be happy if he was the pick.

Centres are a hot commodity but are they the way to go if there are better players in a defensive position? Also I would ask if these Centres are only this high rated because they are centres.

He is a big local boy. I don't think it is a bad pick either but guys are worried about the Virtanen effect. (Who I think will be just fine in a couple more seasons.)

I would tend to agree with this. I know we need to address the centre ice position, but if an elite winger was available that will have a higher impact down the road, shouldn't you consider that? I think Tolvanen and Tippett will be really good players for some lucky teams in this draft.

stats in junior need to be taken with a grain of salt, he has the hands and size to be a good top 6 centre, I don't think this team can be very picky about how a player gets points.

JB really wanted Dubois last year, if Columbus hadn't have picked him at 3, I think he'd be a Canuck right now. I think JB really wants to add that nasty/tough centre with some skill to build on, I can see him picking Rasmussen over Vilardi/Glass (though if middelstadt is free it would be foolish to turn him up).

I hope JB takes a long look at Tippet, we are worse off on RW than Center right now after moving Hansen/Burrows
