Cassels could be one of the biggest busts in our organization though. Apart from containing McDavid in the OHL playoffs, he hasn't done much since.

I'd love to hear Nill's conversations with other GM's. "hey, we MIGHT have a goalie available if you make a sweet offer." 3 anchor contracts for goalies
- CanuckDon

If I was Nill I would send Neimi down to Minors for one year. They would have close to 17 mil in space and 6 players to sign and probably will get Patrick . They will be better off than us this year

Haven't injuries played a major role in disrupting his development though?

I think you could only use that excuse for him after that year. I know he took an extended summer to heal from injuries, but I am pretty sure he has been healthy since.

Not any more. Just put him on the Stewart Cedarholm pile of busts

This organization has had more than its share of busts, Polasek and White are right near the top. Ververgaert wasn't that good a pick either for a 3rd overall.

I called it I was curious about the hype so I watched a few of his games during the OHL playoffs. My immediate reaction was there is close to a zero % chance he plays in the NHL. Absolutley horrific skater. I would actually say he has exceeded my expectations and is the opposite of a bust

I'm not sure how many but every organization does, the Canucks is probably higher though. Not as high as the Leafs though.

I am sure everyone has seen the comparison chart between him and RyJo. If he turns out to be anything like Ryan Johanson then we will no doubt have a good player
- Codes1087

Have heard comparisons for Cody Glass to Mark Scheifele as well. Hope he is still available at #5.

I would think we are the worst. I could go on and on with high picks that were not very good like Jason Herter, but I will try to be positive about our future.

Any Leafs fans mind explaining Nylander's full value and why they would never trade him for Tanev?

- fry

Tanev would be great. He's a good fit. But no way, not for a 20 year old that just scored 60 points.

There was an article on hockeyfeed.com, that placed his value at Leipsic, Carrick, and a first. I personally think that's a LITTLE low, but not by much. Instead of Leipsic, I'd give up Kapanen, but that's about it.

Can't believe it was a story in the first place.

It doesn't matter what Benning say's, there is so much hate for him that people will interpret his statement to suit their cause.

Just like yesterday when a few here were saying he said Euros have no heart.. but really he said north americans have no skill...see how that works

Leafs have to be the worst, and I don't think it's even close!

He'll be a great mid-round pick at 14 with Tampa's pick

He looks good but there are concerns about how he will adapt to NA ice....too risky at 5 I would think.

IMO, if he's still there at 14, at least 9 teams should fire their scouting staffs.
