I mean, don't ALL rebuilds take 10 years? - MaximumBone
They call that a generational rebuild ... |

He just turned 24.
He's 2 years old than Bo.
How long is this rebuild forecasted to take my man? - dbot
Do you want to build your team around RNH and Bo as your top two pivots? That's awful. Or do you want a 3rd line center making $6 million? Realistically we can be competitive in 4 or 5 years. I guess it comes down to our opinion of RNH. Mine is clearly lower. I'd prefer picks |

You just don't get it Red. RNH and his brutal contract aren't what this team needs. We are rebuilding and need to focus on draft picks and prospects in their D+1 or D+2 seasons. We don't need RNH or his salary. By the time we are relevant he will be a liability. (frank) it, I'm just going back to flagging - CanuckDon
I get he isn't what everyone wants ...but he isn't terrible ... |

You are right, he is decent. I'd just prefer younger and cheaper assets |

Yeah, i'd be ok with RNH and Bo as the top 2C's after Henrk retires at the end of the year.
RNH is only signed for a couple years after that, so he could see us through the next few years and then flipped for more assets when his contract is up.
By that time, i'd expect us to draft/trade for more up and coming assets to take over.
edit: How do i know when i've been flagged?

Marwood warned you hours ago. Agree to disagree on this one. I want a top 15 pick |

I bet if you gave RNH top line minutes and pp and offensive zone starts then retain a mill you could flip him for more than you'll get for Tanev |

I still believe the best fit if Tanev is traded would be one I brought up several months ago. Send him to Montreal for Juulsen, a 2017 2nd and a 2018 2nd. A decent defenseman prospect a couple decent picks, one of which is In a much deeper draft (18). |

I would rather a mid 1st to get Foote. |

Sure Foote would be a nice addition, but Juulsen will be a nice addition as well. Don't think Tanev gets us what some have suggested and something along this line would still be a pretty nice haul.

Meanwhile Vancouver got 100X more than what was expected out of burrows.

Not exactly the same. Unless we can just suggest Gauthier instead of 1st round picks. - walshyleafsfan
I think last year the Canucks had like 12 former first rounders dress last year ...a couple at like 31 and 34 overall too

Not high on Juulsen at all. I'd be pleased with Foote though |

Thats a solid offer except the Habs need offense big time. |

I remember who didn't like him. Of the 2 most vocal back then one has since changed his opinion after watching him in the WJC.
Nighthawk- Montreal does need offense and defense. They are a team stuck in a bad spot. They have no choice but to go for it. |

Edler could net a 1st if waived. Tanev has more value than Edler. You do the math.
