Eberle, definitely. He was a major disappointment.
As for Nuge, it's not so simply. Production was a struggle, but to say Nuge's performance was disgraceful tells me that he didn't watch any games. His work playing the shutdown role in the San Jose series was fantastic. His whole line struggled to convert but that wasn't for a lack of chances as he was in and around the net getting chances throughout the playoffs. - MaximumBone
Ya, i wouldn't use the word disgraceful.
Under performed for sure.
I agree, was impressed with his play against the big guys in SJS, but he was pretty invisible against Ana. |

I just don't see how you can fit him in to the plans with all the raises that are needed.
I thought Russel played admirably this season, but it would be a mistake to lock him into a contract imo.
Tanev >> Russel and would look great on Edm top 4 with Skeraj, Larson, Klefbom. - dbot
Agreed. Russell isn't worth anything long term, but at around 3mil for 2 years, he could offer a serviceable fill-in. Tanev is certainly better than him, but Russell wouldn't cost a top-6 forward.
As for the cost, I can assure you that it's not as tough as it sounds thanks to the contracts Klefbom and Larsson are signed to. |

Again, I'll disagree but there's no sense arguing over interpretation. You saw what you saw and I saw what I saw. |

Tanev to the oilers for ethan bear and RNH? - Bettmanhatesus
I would try Tanev for RNH + 1st. Expose Sutter to Vegas. |

Wow haven't visited the leafs board in awhile
Apparently Travis dermott....who ever the Frank that is, is a better prospect than Boeser - classic321
Dermott has been a beast for the Marlies, and plays a more important position.
I'm not sure how the values stack up, very different prospects, but I don't think the Leafs would consider a trade between the two players. |

If he made 3.1 this year, i think he's looking for a raise.
He played well this year.
Someone will pay him. |

I think this is pretty close.
Logistically, if it's a pre-LV draft trade, i think it might have to be bigger and include carrick - Tumbleweed
Agreed. Downgrade the first or add something from the nucks side and it's good.
Though it's a trade I'd do after exhausting JVR for Dman offers, as Kasperi is the guy who'd take his spot. |

Thats my take as well. Trading Tanev is not a must but only for the right return.
Tradeable for reason RHD r not easily acquired. Both teams need a win win. - Nighthawk
I disagree with the notion of patience on a deal. I think there is some urgency for a few reasons:
1) He is getting older, he is in the early stages of prime, teams will pay more to get his best years for the contract price
2) As has been noted in this thread, his injuries keep piling up. Asking him to play more with this team is asking for more tough minutes which could hinder his value
3) Playing behind this team is does not help you look good
4) Probably the most important part, he has a modified NTC that kicks in next year. Handcuffing the GM is only going to hurt his bargaining position
I don't like the wavering this team does with trading valuable pieces, commit to a plan and pull the trigger. I am confident they could get several decent offers quickly and get this resolved before July 1 |

I think Edmonton looks at making a trade centered around Eberle with cap retained for a guy who's struggled lately in Hamonic. He's like Tanev-lite in so far as he's a defensively-focused, injury prone RHD but Eberle is FAR easier to lose than Nuge. |

Not with LV and the expansion draft this year, every team is going to be desperate to hold on to whatever roster players they have when LV gets through taking what's available. Likely few teams will be dealing players unless they're UFA or unsignable RFAs that will command far more then Tanev straight up |

I think that's a little much. Outside of a handful of teams such as Anaheim and Minny, Vegas will be getting nothing but scraps, not to mention the possibility of deals to further protect certain players.
Alternatively, If what you say is correct in that teams will be 'desperate' to retain roster guys, someone like Tanev post Expansion draft would be perfect to fill holes in return for future assets. |

I watched all 7 games against ANA. He sucked. Sorry, and I'm ignoring his brutal contract |

Lets get real here, at his current price, Ebs has sucked these last two regular seasons plus playoffs. |
