I think Benning should trade back with Arizona from 5th to 7th, take on the Bolland contract and acquire the 23rd pick in the process.

Secondly I'd trade Tanev to Tampa for the 14th pick and Taylor Raddysh.

Now you've got three picks in the first round, 7th, 14th & 23rd. Plus you've got two picks in the second round, 33rd & 56th.

Would you be willing to take Callahan back in the Tampa trade?

Benning taking a lot of heat right now for his interview with TSN over in Paris:

I knew I felt close to Benning

I use to say I don't like Swedes, he has found a way to say he doesn't like all of Europe

I don't make the trades, but I doubt they'd be willing to take on both Bolland and Cally.

I only ask due to Tampa's cap situation and taking Tanev on without giving anything away

In that scenario, taking on Coburn would work, as it gives a defenseman back that can eat some minutes

I'm sure they can dump salary somehow.

That's dumb, they could easily trade him, he has value and there was articles expressing Brayden Point can replace Johnson.

Plus I'm sure someone would take on Garrison, he has one year left at 4.6 million but his actual salary is only 2.5 million.

Tanev and our second to Dallas for their 1st and a goalie cap dump (Lethonen at 5.9).

They address two major needs in one swift move, adding a top 4 D and gaining the flexibility to add Bishop plus the 33rd.

We get an expensive stop gap goalie and pick 3rd and 5th (Best D and best remaining centre).

Really, sorry if that was offensive, it was an observation of all the leaf fans declaring what they think someone is worth.
- Makita

I don't think that is necessarily unusual, or offensive. I would normally not advocate doing it on a Canucks thread, but that was the topic of the thread.

Genius

I was going to throw out the idea of (the rare, endangered) three team trade.

Mash up's are fun.

IMO Tanev for a 1st/goalie is enough without tossing in a high 2nd.
Prolly a no go but that is my offer.

This is interesting.

I guess it would depend on how much Dallas thinks their window is open right now. It is a real high first to be giving up, but you also took back a salary dump and your second still leaves them a couple picks in the top 35.

I think this one may make some sense.

My question is what is the longterm gain in acquiring RNH?
He is a playmaker but i'm not sold he is a playoff warrior.

Just turned 24.
6'0 and 198lbs.
Has been good for 20g and 30a.

He'd be a piece of the puzzle.

But he's not an Alpha i hear.
