Nope.
Absolutely unwilling to trade Nylander unless it's for a young stud D. Not many rookies get over 60 points, and he (and Matthews) would surely have even more if Hyman could hit the broadside of a barndoor with a shot... - lumlums

Jake "the mistake" Virtanen was selected 6th overall. - Whiskey-Tango
Don't worry he still thinks Frederick gauthier is a good prospect |

Tanev and Virtanen for Drouin or Tanev and say Subban for Drouin and Callahan
Tanev for Kasperi Kapenen and a 1st
Tanev and Virtanen for Nylander. To me this makrs a bucket of sense for both sides. - Jkuzzi
I think this is pretty close.
Logistically, if it's a pre-LV draft trade, i think it might have to be bigger and include carrick |

Hi buddy, what's going on? |

I tend to agree...although I don't rate Necas as high as you. I'd be pleased with any of Makar, Heiskanen, Glass, Mittle, .......even Vilardi I suppose. lot's of good options - CanuckDon
Glass and Heiskanen are definitely the way to go. From everything I've read and the little I've seen of him, Glass definitely gives off Mark Scheifele vibes. He'd be a perfect compliment to Horvat a couple years down the road as the more offensive RHC to Horvat's shutdown LHC.
While I doubt Heiskanen drops past Dallas, I think teams are bound to start learning from teams like Colorado and Edmonton and realize the importance of drafting D early in the rebuild. With the way he's sky-rocketed up the rankings, I don't think you can ignore him if he's there at 5. |

I am really starting to get a feeling that Makar has passed Liljegren on his D rankings and he will be selected at 5. I like it, high risk pick. Benning will be praised or fired - CanuckDon
Did you listen to JB's interview? Didn't sound to me as if he is impressed with him at 5. I don't see liljegren dropping out of the top 10. |

I didn't listen to it....just know Benning has watched him many times and has spoke highly of him in the past. Remember how Benning always talked up Tkachuk last year? He never intended on taking him. Just a guess that's all. |

Dallas is rebuilding? - Reubenkincade
No but they need a top pairing LD so it makes sense. Think they were referring to other rebuilding teams. Like the avs, oilers, leafs and sabres. |

No they wouldnt. I didnt realize nylander or drouin play center or a top pairing potential defensemen. Nice try though.
Edit: Plus those deals are way to sided for the leafs. Like us saying mathews for tanev.. You guys are fools. |

I don't think Leafs fans are necessarily against Tanev, but the names mentioned are not something the Leafs fans want the team to part with.
You don't take a core that young, and under financial control for a few more years, and give up one of the central pieces for a 28 year old, solid, steady dman.
The finances, ages, and timing and even the talent from the trade ideas early in this thread don't work.
Do you think you can get Drouin for Tanev? - Aetherial
Only if we take back contract cap space IMO & even then i'm not so sure.

Leafs expect Nylander to be center. Theyve said it on quite a few occasions. Not sure about drouin but either way both would be a steal for Vancouver. |

Let me give this a try. In a different sort of way. If you were trading Tanev to Pittsburg who would you expect to get back. Reasonably. - Leafsmart
Well 1st off is cap space & 2nd Pitt is a poor example tbh.
Oilers Stars Coyotes Av's Leafs r more suitable needing top D.
Contenders r another story & harder to predict offers. |

No way they're getting Drouin for Tanev. He can't play a full season, doesn't provide any offense and doesn't help Tampa's cap situation at all. |
