JB shouldnt be shopping him. Take every phone call you get on him and just say "impress me" and if something great pops up jump on it
- NorthNuck

The fun part is trying to figure out who needs him the most? Dallas? Toronto? Detroit? Buffalo?

I don't want guys who fall, I want guys with real offensive upside. Gillis always took fallers and he was the worst drafter in Canucks history.

Ok well if someone on his board falls ?

I'd rather trade Edler but Tanev has value, if they truly want a rebuild then trading Tanev makes sense.
- LeftCoaster

Of course, But it's Edler. He's like that last guy at your party that just won't take a hint that it's time to leave.

I think this is a perfect opportunity for Jim Benning to find some real value players in a draft that seems to be undervalued, in media at least. He needs to grab a few more picks, preferably another first.
- LeftCoaster

I agree. What I don't want to see is them taking a gamble on some players though. We need pretty safe selections for now, as our prospect pool is awfully thin.
Don't want to see JB taking chances on players lIke Mittlestadt Makar Liljegren types. We can take riskier players once we have a decent group of young players.
I don't want to see anymore Libor Polasek type selections.

You might prefer a 2018 1st but you might be better off to not wait ..the bidding war is now ...and Tanev is starting to become more injury prone on a bad team ...his value might not be higher than it is at the draft
- Redmile247

yes. was just saying its not the worst thing. I agree, add more assets now.

Thus why I think we can let teams come to us and just let the bidding war go as far as possible. If a good deal is on the table by the end then pull the triiger. I also think there wouldnt be too much harm in waiting to trade him next year

What I'm saying is you can trade to get say pick 23...but your not sure if you love the deal ...but it's there ...and then a guy who you have ranked say 14 falls to that spot ...then pull the trigger ..if the guy doesn't make it then forget the deal

No doubt we're in trouble. Thus why we need another C, followed by a top pairing D, then to fill out the top 6 wingers as Boeser is the only one I would say has a high probability of reaching potential. We can load up on Cs but it will only make our situations at other positions more bleak
- NorthNuck

They need a top pairing D for sure. But Centers can play wing. So if Nucks actually are fortunate enough to draft two more centers better then Bo then he can play wing in top 6.

while many dont like edmonton winning its nice to have 2 canadian teams in final 6 teams left. If oilers win then 2 of final 4. Canadas best chance of a cup in the longest time, a few decades.

even if oilers win I dont see them beating nashville anyways.
Nashville / pens would make for a great series!

- SMBDragon

I'm a hockey fan first and foremost, and I have hated Edmonton since the WHA days, I want the best teams to go forward. If that means that the team I hate as much as Toronto goes through, so be it.

But I will never ever cheer for them because they are from Canada, I will cheer for their opponent as long as Edmonton is still in contention.

BTW, I'm only at the beginning of the second (PVR), and the Oilers are ahead 1 zip...
