You are missing the point. Look at Bo as you would look at Jordan Staal . Everyone including myself like Bo and want him to be great.

When Staal was with the Pens behind Malkin and Crosby the Pens had a three center combo that had potential to win a cup.

Staal alone in Carolina has no chance of winning a cup. We want to find players better than what we have now, .This current team has no chance of winning it all. We need to find better players and our best chanc is through the draft.

No one is insulting Bo.

- VANTEL

Oh i never thought you were insulting him or anything, just undervaluing. You talk about that PIT lineup of 3 Cs competing for a cup. Well they won last year and look to be well on the way to winning this year with Bonino as their 3C, so I don't know how well that example applies, Bo is already better than Bonino

Once again I think we defintely need to find another C who can be better than Bo ASAP, but beyond that i think there are several needs significantly more pressing than finding a 3rd C

So you think he is going to regress?

Portland is the 3rd youngest team in the CHL and youngest in the WHL.

His team should be on the up and up

I like Glass and agree with Vantel, be hard to pass on him at 5. Hell I'd even gamble on Makar if he played some better hockey, unfortunately he hasn't. Kids gonna need a lot of development time.

They need a culture change, still a lot of good young players there, build around Backstrom and Kuznetsov.

I would peg Vilardi more like that. Plus Glass plays with grit. Stars favor D and forward more. Why they take Vilardi who's been playing forward all season if not Heiskenan or Makar. Avs will take one of those D or Mittlestadt to replace Dutch. Why Glass likely to be left for Nucks.

I would see what it will take to get a first after the Canucks pick ...if makar falls at all he could be worth the gamble

I am not undervaluing him . On the current Canucks he can be our 1 ,2 , or 3 rd line center. If he is our best we are in trouble.

That is not a statememnt of his skill it is a statement of the skill that surrounds him.

We need to find top 6 players that can put up 30 goals a year or 50 assists. Having Baertschi or Ganlund in your top 6 won't cut it.

If he is picked and Heiskanen is picked and another Dman and Glass are gone we get Patrick. That's cool

Ovi with the Sedins?
I think that's more of a heart attack than all the creamy fettuccine in the world.

I don't even know where or what his value would be ...he's a 31 year old 7 time 50 goal scorer ...but he's being paid almost 10 million on the cap for 5 more years

I don't think he is top 5 but we will get either a good center or a good D .
- VANTEL

If those top centers and Heiskenan are gone then it leaves college bound Mittlestandt or Makar for Nucks.

I think this is a perfect opportunity for Jim Benning to find some real value players in a draft that seems to be undervalued, in media at least. He needs to grab a few more picks, preferably another first.

No doubt we're in trouble. Thus why we need another C, followed by a top pairing D, then to fill out the top 6 wingers as Boeser is the only one I would say has a high probability of reaching potential. We can load up on Cs but it will only make our situations at other positions more bleak

If Tanev becomes a bidding war, another mid to late 1st + or even ++ is a possibility.
To me, Tanev for a 2017 1st alone is not enough. Worst case u keep Tanev and possibly move him for a 2018 1st +. Yes he has a NTC, but there is no gun to JB's head. He hasn't asked to be traded and is still young.

I'd rather trade Edler but Tanev has value, if they truly want a rebuild then trading Tanev makes sense.

You might prefer a 2018 1st but you might be better off to not wait ..the bidding war is now ...and Tanev is starting to become more injury prone on a bad team ...his value might not be higher than it is at the draft

I don't want guys who fall, I want guys with real offensive upside. Gillis always took fallers and he was the worst drafter in Canucks history.

JB shouldnt be shopping him. Take every phone call you get on him and just say "impress me" and if something great pops up jump on it
