That can't come true... It's not Flyer like
- dragonoffrost

Yeah if that top 9 was real with our eventual defensive prospects, something would have to go wrong. Just too good to be true for us

Just adding Lindblom and the 2nd overall pick changes the forwards a lot.

If it would get it done I would do Ghost and a 2nd or third round pick for Drouin in a second...

Add Drouin + 2nd overall pick to TK and the offense on this team looks a lot different over the next couple of years.

This would a trade too difficult not to consider.

I agree. Even in his sophomore slump he produced, and really seemed to come around again later. Ghost's presence on the PP is big. I don't wanna lose that.

I'd rather not give up Sanheim, but (and I can't believe I'm saying this) our war chest is stacked with defensive prospects. We can probably afford to let him go because of how well Myers is progressing. Plus, let's not forget Morin is still around.

Hedman, DeAngelo, and Sanheim would be a formidable defensive core for years to come if you're the Lightning.

Sanheim and a 2. I'll swallow that bitter pill for a crack at Drouin

Lol! You're totally right. I forgot about that!

Well, even more reason for Sanheim, right?

Playing in the AHL as an 18 or 19 year old doesn't burn a year off an ELC. See Hagg, Robert.

Ok cool. Didn't know that. Either way. Still don't want Gordon coaching him

I doubt Tampa will agree to that trade, though.

Additionally, can you imagine all the crying around here if Sanheim succeeds in Tampa and Drooin does not pan out(Bob comes to mind).

I have a question about reviews.

Say a team is losing by a goal and, with 3 minutes remaining, a questionable zone entry is allowed. Without any stoppages since before the questionable entry, the opposition goalie freezes the puck for a stoppage with 5 seconds left.

Could the trailing team's coach review the call (even if his team was the one that made the entry) and possibly have the clock rolled back to the 3 minute mark?

I don't see Drouin pulling a Heatley/Cheechoo. There is no "panning out" left for him to do.

Out of the young defensive players, I would move Gostisbehere.

As dynamic as he is I think Sanheim, Myers, Provorov, Morin, Hagg just bring me a more well rounded defense moving forward. that doesn't take into account Friedman who also has an offensive game.

I think offsides is only reviewable if a goal is scored after the questionable entry.

But I could be wrong.

Not ready to trade Ghost. The Flyers would also be missing a PP QB because that is one area that Provorov did not excel in last season. I think Ghost will be among the best PP QBs in the NHL.
- Baxter27

I don't want to trade Ghost either. I don't know where he fits 4 years from now but deal with that then. Droun is a great talent. I want to see what this team looks like in camp. I hope to see Lindblom Veccs, Morin and Hagg on the roster opening night. If the #2 makes it that will be 5 rookies out of the gate. Youth be served. Bring on our kids and let's get this party started.
Aside, what does our fourth line shake out to be. A lot of guys slide down if two top 6 guys are added. Plus Veccs at 4c.

Lindblom, G,Jake
Val,#2,Simmer
Schenn,Coots,TK
Rafl, Veccs,Weal
Pebs
Weiss
Read expansion
The rest go to AHL

Edit: I just looked again, TK doesn't pass through waivers and I believe can go to the Phantoms this year. Does Weiss stay with Coots and TK spend time in the AHL . Just random thoughts.

Lol. Of course Sanheim succeeds in that situation. It would only be fitting

And yeah, it would be bad if Drouin became the next Gratton

Okay then. How about the coach tells the guys on the bench that, if the puck ends up in our zone with less than 10 seconds left, put it in the net.

Would like to see the rule changed to allow 19 year olds with 3 full years of major Junior be AHL eligible and I'd even be fine with limiting it to one player per NHL team per season. It was certainly no help to Strome this year, and a guy like Patrick, if he doesn't make the NHL roster, would also be much better off in the AHL at this point in his development.

Sadly, the CHL would fight this tooth and nail.

I wonder if we will see a shift away from prospects playing in the CHL for that very reason. A larger number of NCAA players are now making the NHL, and we just saw Matthews play in switzerland. I doubt it would be significant, but it will be interesting to see if it forces a change

How would your team possibly being offside 2 minutes and 50 seconds ago overturn a goal you scored on yourself?

NCAA players have to give up a few years if they commit to their NCAA teams. Most of them come into the league at 21/22. I think it's a possibility, but I also think most Canadian kids just want to play juniors because it gets you massive amounts of hot chicks.

lol...hmmm...on a successful overturn of a non-called offsides, do they turn back the clock now? Or do they just disallow the goal and move on?

Because doesn't all game action that resulted after the overturned onside call (including game clock) no longer count? Wouldn't the clock go back to 3:00 left and go back to the score at the 3-minute mark?

Same way as a goal is disallowed on a successful offsides challenge now. But I don't think they turn back the game clock.

I like well-rounded defenseman myself, but Ghost's dynamic play is tough to replace. It's great to be able to pull a guy like that out of your bag of tricks, especially on the PP, or when you're down 1 with 5 min left and you desperately need a goal.

Sanheim is a bigger prospect, no argument there. Still, I like what I see in our farm, so I think we can afford a guy like Gostisbehere. He's still a huge asset. He's obviously no Brian Leech, but he's as close as we've got.

I believe this is correct. But i, personally, don't think a coach is going to risk a time out to have the face off moved outside the blue line.

I am kind of referring mainly to the "high end" prospects. A lot of times they are out after 1 season of eligibility (Eichel, Hanafin) or two (Werenski, McAvoy, Kunin)

I think they reset the game clock to the time of the offside play.
