The sentiment is about the only endearing thing left there. Hell, even when it was a total dump it at least invoked some memories of better days (far fewer for the less-old fans like me).

I love the NVMC.. love the sight lines, love the size of the building, I love how b/c it's build that way the noise when it's is sold out is like no other arena. the new Arenas are built so that if you are in the 200 section or higher you are pretty far from the ice. The Coliseum and some of the old barns no longer used you are still fairly close to ice.

put some friggin Bathrooms, Beer bars, and food consessions outside in tented areas

I would have him in the C area... He is the captain and needs to play like one. He made HUGE mental errors all year long that we all discussed often. This team finished one point out of the playoffs. How many games in OT was he caught trailing the play by a mile b/c he stayed on waaay too long? How many odd man rushes were the result of him losing the puck at the blue line trying to do too much in a dangerous area? How many times did he fail to back check?

He is an Elite player... He needs to be elite all the time though.. not just when they have possession. You see Oshie at the end of that game last night? he was a man possessed.. blocking shots, clearing zone, tying guys up.. etc. THAT is what our CAPTAIN needs to be on this team.

JT was not good this year and he cannot say he did not have good wings this year. I'd still rather have someone else besides Bailey, but Bailey was good this year. JT needs to be more engaged in all areas of the ice and needs to clean up the sloppy or lazy play.

Yeah, well, unfortunately they finally got smart and stopped putting the luxury boxes at the highest points of the arena. 10 years ago I took in a LAK/ATL game from the AXA suite at the Staples Center and it was so great being down lower to the ice. I couldn't believe more arenas weren't built that way, with the cheap seats above the luxury boxes, and then lo and behold...they're all starting to be set up like that now.

He had a fantastic year defensively, so it's not like it was a total bust. His point totals were barely down and his goals were down a bit...but he also became a much more complete player this year.

If there was ever a year to have a dip in production, this was the one.

Tented bathrooms and concessions in January?? Sounds like you'd freeze your ass off......literally. But they do make modern portable trailers for the purpose.

Brendan Byrnn had them in the middle.. but did not have 2 and 3 levels of them in the middle so it wasn't THAT bad up top. It also has to do with the way the have the seats more spread out up top.. the old arenas and stadiums were steeper up top.

I must have missed when JT was being a more complete player. I just did not see it.

The fact that the team won 6 in a row playing the best TEAM defense they played all year when He was hurt should be a wake up call too. ...

He played on the PK... I will grant him that but he was NOT good on the defensive end.

It's like the rest of the NHL is open for business and the Isles are sleeping.

so regardless of what Eichal said in the buffalo news interview yesterday to debunk him not wanting bylsma it seems he can have them fired

no the isles set their alarm earlier so they could ensure that snow would stay and secure weight before other teams could try and lure him away

Well, Murray was spot on when he said he was "the GM today" and Bylsma was "the coach today".
