Sigh. So Ryan, the play of the team doesn't matter in front of the goalie? Then why are we subjected to an unending series of possession metric charts for months on end? This is a great example of picking whatever stats and metric you want to fit your argument. MAF was not by any stretch great last night, but he was largely responsible for giving them a chance to win games 1 & 2. He was not by any stretch great last night, but the team in front of him was just lousy defensively, and to simply ignore that is irresponsible. They allowed a 2 on 1 right out of the gate in the third period that didn't even result in a goal BEFORE they came down and scored the 5th goal with 4 Penguins standing around and watching. I don't consider myself a MAF apologist. I think Murray at this point is clearly the better goalie, but I also think they way you are throwing MAF under the bus here...

Ok I'll say it.

Next game I really really really hope Flower gets hit in his Penguin again again again & again. All game keep tapping his Penguin.

He'll be jumping all over the joint, ducking & weaving & falling over he'll even go face first a few times, but I just hope the Blowjobs don't miss his Penguin!

Will that keep everyone not happy with Flower happy? Flower getting hit in his Penguin?

Take it for the Team Flower!

That Penguin fan should be arrested. Stupid punk.

Then again Travis Hughes has always been a joke. He always tries to his pathetic best to put down the Penguins any chance he gets.

Every fan base has idiots.

The thing about this video that is puzzling is that the Jackets fan and his cronies had ample opportunity to get back. The guy was walking away, but it's not like he was sprinting, and they had caught up to him, but didn't do anything. I'm all about not physically fighting over sports, but if this dude hit me, you can bet you're ass I'm hitting him back.

Awful coach? I don't think so. There are plenty coaches who would put future HOF right wingers on the left side.

I will always appreciate him turning the team around and winning the Cup but he sure was stubborn coach who refused to adapt when things weren't working. It was frustrating to watch.

I wonder if Mario is considering hiring another head coach to help Mike Sullivan make adjustments?

Dan can bring Murray with him to give JR another assistant GM.

With the way our minor league system is flourishing while the big club has played great, I think the Pens should hire extra security to make sure Dan and Murray get no where near Pittsburgh and Wilkes.

What? awful?

He did deliver not just a cup, but a pretty phenomenal 2010-11 season when we missed crosby and malkin for large chunks of the season and still managed to go the full 7 against TBY with Max (frank)ing Talbot as our top forward.

Of course, thats not to say he shouldn't have been canned after the philly series. His failure to make in-game adjustments eventually lost him the locker room I think.

But I disagree he was awful. Awful is word to describe someone like Dallas Eakins

We committed to losing Botterill the moment we reupped Rutherford. I'd love to keep him, but that's just not gonna happen. He's been the heir apparent for like 6 years and now he's been told he needs to wait another 4 at least. I get wanting to stay with your organization, but at some point he needs to advance his career.

Julien Brisebois from Tampa might be another option for Buffalo. I know he was an option for the PGH job before GMJR.

Victoro. Maybe Boterill just likes his job here and wants to stay. He doesn't need to advance his career, I doubt he is lacking in any luxury in life.
