Jake G gets pushed around too much by bigger teams. Needs to go back to the AHL and put on 10-15 lbs. in the offseason.

I just don't want to stop talking poop and see the scoring dry up. I'll eat crow all summer as long as he keeps scoring while I talk poop.

I'd keep Wilson in the line up. He's at least getting scoring chances
- willi

I'd keep Rowney for the remainder of this series. Although it's probably a moot point because they probably won't rush Hags back being up 3-0. I like Wilson and I think he can be an effective player but I like having a few bigger bodies against a big team. Rowney is pretty much the only guy that gives their D something to think about.

They could have just put a coat of spray paint on him.

Get it? Rust??? Get it?

I dunno, pretty sure the D is thinking about the other 11 guys who all possess the skill to generate scoring chances. Probably thinking about them more than Rowney.

I've only seen a handful of Caps games from the TDL on, but Shattenkirk has looked okay to me, not great. He's an absolute mess defensively despite his physical tools. He's a good passer, but his shot hasn't wowed me like I expected. Now, had the Pens known Letang would miss all season, maybe they make a move for a guy like him, bu I don't think the return on investment has been great so far for Washington.
- jmatchett383

That's been my impression as well in a small sample size. It kind of reminds me of the Keith Yandle deal for the Rangers...gifted offensive defenseman who didn't make the impact that was anticipated when acquired. Time will tell. I do agree that had the Oens known Letang wasn't coming back that maybe they pull the trigger in him. They do miss 58's controlled exits and great first pass as much as anything...but that having been said, I don't know if there is a team in the east that can match up with the 4 lines the Pens are currently rolling..especially when Hagelin gets back and plugs into the 3rd line with Bonino and Horny.

Was it Rowney that missed Dubs on the goal that tied the game?

Fluke play. The puck bounced off the frame of the open door and reversed direction.

So some would sit Wilson. Then who would you put in his place?

Apart from injuries, is a long rest good through the playoffs? I think a team on a roll is more dangerous than a well rested 1 with the exception of being busted.
- Aussiepenguin

Given the playoff experience on this team and the fact that they are notoriously slow starters, I'd take the rest over momentum. I'm not sure they can play worse than they have in the first period this series.

no one until hags comes back. Wilson has been simplistic and unable to convert, but he hasnt been a liability. hell i'm not even sure if wilson should be the one who sits when hags comes back.

They're saying Hags when he gets back. Personally I'd keep Hags and Wilson both int he lineup and sit Rowney.

Gotta be someone... Wilson or Kuhn are my two odd men out... Rowny stays because that body being thrown around is very needed, and also his play has not been a liability.

Until Wilson nets a goal, I'd bump him over Kuhn.

side note... how good is it that our main concern is which 4th liner gets bumped out? Doesn't that sound awesome... we can't decide which 4th liner is not good enough to get demoted, instead of which one is more sucky than the others?

Hahaha I still think there are some issues on defense, but I don't even know if it's fixable at this point. Just kinda roll with it.

BJ fans and their blogger have been pretty quiet on this site. It's kinda funny, but not surprising. They don't seem to have to many fans on this site. Tomorrow night will be (frank)ing loud in that arena though. Hope the pens can steal another win in their place. Best option is an OT win. Then they won't start doing cheap shots since they know they lost already.

It is what it is. We swarm and forecheck pretty darn well. That makes up for some of it. Need .92 goaltending to win, IMO.

Yeah the BJs can't figure out how to beat the Pens 2 forecheckers. Jesse wrote a good article on it over at the pensblog

I don't know. Wilson creates so many chances even if he isn't scoring. Risky to take away someone that has been getting so many scoring chances. Kuhn has been taking abuse from the BJs. They seem to hate him. First the cross check and hit to the head, last night I think there was a late hit onto him. Maybe they move that violence to someone else if he's not in the line up.
