So two things I didn't like tonight were Wilson in general, I'm usually a fan of what he brings to the 4th line, not tonight. And the other was Fleury's rebounds. They were monsterous.

The first rebound goal I give him a pass on. That was total team melt down and understably caught him by surprise. The second one was my least favorite goal he gave up. I'll never get mad at Flower for trying to stop a break away with a poke check. He's damn good at it.

Yeah. Kicking it right into the slot. I'm with you on Wilson, never seen so many wasted chances.

its hard to say the guy is completely awful, because ill give him credit he is always around the puck. but he doesnt do any one thing exceptionally well and hes made some bad decisions in good opportunities. i typically wont fault someone for looking to rip it, especially on the lower lines, but still.

rowney has brought a good element. if hags comes back, who sits? wilson, kuhn, or rowney?

what a game, will take being up 3-0, with a chance to close it out on Tuesday. The team showed a ton of heart tonight, great win. Its going to be a tough out on Tuesday, but I would rather get it done, and not let this series drag on and an injury happen on a cheap hit.

I agree with all of that but there were also a pile of other juicy rebounds dished out throughout the game. At the end of the day he did enough to secure a win and that's all that really matters. The game is done.

Here's a nice GIF to watch Savard quit and then Jake lifting the stick of Dman near him then score the goal

And a funny pic

I didn't think fleury was bad at all. The defense was just a train wreck for the first 10 minutes and gifted the BJs a couple goals

I can't stand when people ignore the obvious total breakdowns and blame the goalie. The players in front of him were struggling bad in those initial minutes, but people only see the goalie missing the save. It makes no sense to me. MAF didn't have a great game, but he definitely made some big saves to keep them in it.

I didn't notice Jake lifting the stick when I first saw it. Great job by him.

Love the Crosby tweet.

Wilson brings more than Rowney and Kuhnhackl. Just because he isn't very creative it doesn't mean he isn't effective. A guy can do worse things than boringly put the puck on net. A fourth line with Kunitz, Cullen and Wilson would be a pretty nice unit.

You have to be pretty good to get that many chances, he just murdered most of them. Every player goes through that at some point. He isn't costing us when he's on the ice, just wish he'd bury one. Sheary had the exact same game, lotsa chance, just rushing it.

thats what i mean. he definitely had me going tonight but like i said, he has to at least get some credit for having the chances to flub.

that fourth line was VERY effective this year. a healthy hags will be huge. bumping down wilson to the fourth should he stick.

its hard to look at rust and bump him down for hagelin right now.

Which is why you put Hagelin with Bonino and Hornqvist. That's a pretty pesky, quietly talented third line.

Not that I want to look past the rest if this year but between Guentzel, Sheary, Rust, Sprong, Zac Aston-Reese, Sundqvist, and other lower level prospects/young players.... the forward group seems poised to just roll for the next few years.

If we can get a few D prospects to fill out the pipeline, the Pens window might be open for another 6+ years.

Awesome win tonight. ... let's close it out on Tuesday!

Been a problem this whole series where the Pens have been flat-footed out of the gate and have been dominated in every 1st period. This was finally the game where the BJs were able to capitalize on a few chances and give the pens a scare

A couple of shrewd trades, a few of Shero's picks having the chance to shine and Sid/Malkin really turned things around for a team once considered to have a shallow prospect pool and be top-heavy in composition.

I can't say I was a fan of the Hainsey trade, but I hope we avoid the mistakes of Shero's time of "going all-in" and sacrificing draft picks for veterans. Who knows what those picks could translate into years down the road

For me, I keep Rowney in over Wilson if Hags returns. I know people will disagree, but I like having a bigger body guy out there for the rest of this series. I think he does a pretty good job PKing too. He's an AHL'r for sure, but I like having a little physicality against these guys. JMO.

Yeah, it was supposed to be Pouliot and nothing else. Instead, Pouliot is nothing and those supposedly middling forwards are something else. 82 goals in 312 NHL games (regular season and playoffs) between Rust/Sheary/Guentzel.

Those graphs or charts or whatever you'd like to call them about scoring in the A then transferring that into an nhler, how did they look again? Although in saying that, was Geunzsy even on those things? Shears & Rusty were.
