Anyone else hate the guy wearing pink or red behind the CBJ net? My tv must suck or it's seeing what you want but I keep thinking it's the goal light coming on. |

Welp. We weathered the storm. That was probably the best CBJ had to give us and now we're dusting off the brooms. I never would have called being up 3-0 on CBJ. |

You guys remember that December of 2015 the Pens were said to have the worst prospect pool in the NHL? The WBS Pens were the best team in the AHL this season and those prospects scored all the goals in this NHL playoff game. |

Incredibly gutty effort. Total domination from about 7 minutes in and on. Nice thing about the playoffs is that you don't have to be better than some hypothetical - you have to be better than the team on the other bench on any given night.
Jake Guentzel is just amazing.
Bryan Rust scores at a season-long pace of 28 goals in the postseason.
And I feel like Kunitz and Hagelin are going to just make things better if they get back sooner than later. |

The first couple minutes were tough, but also, I'ma be that token Fleury apologist: I really don't think he played all that bad. He should have made one of those saves, but none of those goals were the classic "The (frank) was that, MAF" goal. |

The poke check goal I think he should've saved, but with how bad the turnovers were to only give up 1 more goal on another fluky play the rest of the game gotta tip the hat for Fleury keeping his head (literally on the big save) in it the rest of the game.
And for Guentzal, yeah Sid has a his winger for hopefully the rest of his career, the kid plays too well with "the Kid" |

no, agreed. that first goal right off the bat he was completely just unprepared for. but so was the whole team. they just got blitzkrieged. the werenski goal sucked, but again, it wasnt an awful headshaker.
this was a classic old style fleury game. stats suck. he wasnt objectively amazing, but he was timely as (frank).
the skaters in front of him stepped up big time. i thought they were going to buckle after 3 1 and just concede it mentally as of course columbus was gonna get one. |

Yeah with the way Fleury's head usually goes, those three goals not totally being his fault was irrelevant. I was ready for a melt down after getting scored on three times in the first 5 minutes (one being literally the first second). But that didn't happen, and he played exactly like he needed to the rest of the game, and our forwards were good enough to make up for those initial three goals. Kudos to Flower, and kudos to Guentzel, Malkin, and Rust for making poop happen. |

Yeah, it was supposed to be Pouliot and nothing else. Instead, Pouliot is nothing and those supposedly middling forwards are something else. 82 goals in 312 NHL games (regular season and playoffs) between Rust/Sheary/Guentzel. |
