Thank god the same group of coaches are working with the PK.
If it ain't broke don't fix it. - PLindbergh31
perhaps the adjustment is going to be player personnel wise. as Bill mentioned on twitter, Lappy at one time had one of the better PK units. I will say, maybe its a good idea not to have PEB take the faceoff cause he is just not all that good at them and losing possession right off the bat hurts. |

Same. I hate how they do that diamond style switch at the points on the PK. - Pixote Andolini
I'm not a fan of it either but it's used to prevent cross ice passes across the box.

It def isn't all coaching. The personnel sucks too.
Seems like every time VDV, Bellemare, and MacDonald were on the ice on the PK the puck ended up in the back of the net. - PLindbergh31
You left off a big reason why the PK sucked many times this year in your list..the goalies. |

The weird thing is the PK was ranked about the same as it was last year when the goalies played great. |

Mullen let go, but the others kept on.
The fraternity/country club lives on I see. A club coached by Lappy/Hak that loves boys like VDV/Belle. Joy. Neanderthal thinking.
Go yell at Ghost some more, that boy plays with too much skill.
One day, I will get to see the purge. Of all the old 'glory day' fools that this club employs. Leafs style. One can dream. |

This is hysterical! Never mind that the head coach was hired out of the University of North Dakota, and had zero ties to the Flyers before being hired. Can't make this stuff up! Wait what was I thinking, you just did.

Do you think the Flyers should get Gostisbehere into therapy because he might have been yelled at? |

Is anyone concerned with Hextall and loyalty versus what is best for the club?
You look who Hextall's mentor was, Lombardi, and you can argue that was Lombardi's downfall.

I don't have "Chairman of the International Coalition of United Pharmacists" on mine, so I didn't match to a residency.

Thats an organizational thing, not just on Hex. Hell it probably helped him get hired.

Very hard to defend not letting Lappy go but firing the most successful assistant coach. Something else is amiss here or Hexy needs some serious criticism if this doesn't work out next year. I like the idea of Lappy moving over to forwards and an assistant taking over main duties....perhaps this is a wait and see but for now, it doesn't look good. |

Personally, not at all. He just fired an assistant coach who was here for 10 years that he was fond of personally. Hextall's main loyalty is to the Flyers and to himself. In my opinion he will do what he thinks is best for the team. If that leads to the appearance of loyalty, I would speculate that he doesn't care about that appearance.

I wanted to see some change in the coaching staff myself, and I wasn't thinking about Mullen so that is a surprise to me. I think the most important thing is to get better players obviously. |

Why would I give that a thought? The Flyers have a head coach who I think is going to be a successful coach here long term.

If you're a fan you wouldn't think that. Varsity and his way of thinking needs to go. Its disturbing they let Mullen walk and keep Hak/Lappy.
Edit: You know, the more I think... I do question if you are a fan. The advocating for continous status quo mindset is basically what has continously held the Flyers back. |
