The players responded to Weight, because they respect him. He's a former winner. But, they should absolutely be looking into special teams coaches. I always said, if Capuano who's never really done anything at the NHL level was telling me what to do, i'd laugh at him. Its like having a trainer at the gym being a fat slob and telling you how to get in shape. - kindlyrick
When you get a chance can you upload all of Ken Hitchcock's highlights of when he was dazzling on the ice as a player? Capuano was terrible as a coach but the guy made it to the NHL. Only a small % of the worlds population can say that. Your analogy is way off |

@NYP_Brooksie
So it essentially took NYI ownership 24 hours to conclude that status quo in the hockey department is the way to go? Odd.

What's odd is that he finds this odd |

Also, Gretzky was a garbage-fire as a coach |

He's not worth 10 mill. - ses111
He's going to get $10M per at least. If not, someone else will give him that money on the open market next summer, whether he's "worth it" or not. |

Im sure I am, and im fine with that. But, like I said, i'd rather win on the ice. Years ago, they didnt take the cup away from Dallas because Hull was in the crease. There should be some human element to this. IMHO |

I don't know about "at least" I think he'll be somewhere between Stamkos' $8.5 and the Toews/Kane $10.5
I'd say $10M is on the higher end of what he'd get, but it's most certainly not out of the question. |

Lets go with 9.5 so there is some extra money for Bailey's extension |

I'm really, really trying hard to have some faith in the offseason. I know it's an exercise in futility, but I'm trying here. |

I mean there are no absolutes on anything in life. My anaology wasnt absolute, being that Hitchcock wasn't a stanley cup winning player, but, he hit the ground running as a coach. "Hitchcock assumed his position behind the bench for the 1984–85 season, and had an immediate effect on the Blazers, leading them to four consecutive division titles and two league titles (in 1985–86 and 1989–90)." So, he clearly had it in him, as opposed to having a guy like Capuano who as far as I know never won anything as a coach (or player)..........yet was given 5 years as an NHL coach.
When Weight took over, we all saw a completely different team. I saw a better effort from the players. To me, it was a respect thing. |

I dont think my point was that EVERY player who won would make a good coach, but rather if you'vbe never won anything, you shouldnt be given 5 years to continue to fail. That leash should have been cut a year or two in. Clearly the losing was contagious. |

One good thing about Weight is we know Ho-Sang, Beau & Barzal will be getting plenty of ice time - Vukota
Weight is not hesitant to play the kids. What are they going to do with Halak?
buy him out?
Keep him?
with his contract, Vegas may claim him to get to the cap floor.

At least you're trying. I'm already starting to follow King's XI Punjab of the India Cricket League. There is a class-run organization. |

Definitely wouldn't need to trade either for TJ.
