I hope so. My question was more who are we protecting? - Cptmjl
I don't even know which option they're going to choose. 7F, 3D, 1G or 8 skaters and 1G?
I don't think there are 7 forwards worthy of protection, but I could see doing that to protect assets like Strome/Bailey/Nelson so that we can trade them to teams that get middle-6 forwards taken away from them.
If we protect 8 skaters I think you'd go: 91, 16, 27, 2, 3, 6, 44, 55
If we protected 7F & 3D: 91, 16, 27, 29, 18, 12, 25 & 2, 6, 55 but there would be a huge chance of losing Hamonic, unless Snow made a side-deal with McPhee to leave Hamonic alone.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ |

*psst, KR. Maybe it's because the big club, after 10 years of drafting, has never been close to winning a championship. They're run like the big club. - Isleshockeyman
Haha of course......but the fact that Bport isnt a success should speak volumes about the big club. |

If they want to protect Pulock then they have to go 8 skaters and 1 goalie route. Unless they trade Hamonic or ask Boychuk to waive his no move clause which is slim unless Snow makes a side deal with McPhee not to take him |

It wouldn't surprise me if Hickey is traded (if he's tradeable?). Pretty clear that Doug doesn't like Hickey after scratching him a couple times and playing him at forward |

That's ok, Snow isn't even sure who he'll be protecting. I'd be willing to bet they'll be a couple head-scratchers that he protects. - Isleshockeyman
He'll resigns and protect Quine. Wait for it. |

Certainly possible. Hickey had a terrible season, but in years past he has been a good bottom pairing guy. He's dirt cheap and is on an expiring contract now. I think teams will have interest. Price won't be very high though. |

"Garth Snow said he’s always open to adding people to the Islanders’ front-office staff and that he understands the “bullets and arrows” are flying his way after his team failed to make the playoffs for the seventh time in his 11 seasons as general manager.

So after 11 years of the same old SHAT with this organization being run by a GM in training back up goalie, the new owners have taking 24 hrs. to decide that the organization is being run properly and The GM and his band of NHL misfits (except foe Weight imho ) are doing a great job with 4 PO appearances and 1 series win in 11 years? Do something L and M, what in PHUCKS sake are you waiting for it hasn't changed in 11 years under this clown, Fire his ass already!
This phucking team is a total joke and will not get another dime out of me until they fire Snow's dumb ass or bring in someone with a proven NHL resume that Garth can get coffee for and become his secretary.
The once proud Islanders crest is being disrespected now for 20 years and I can't take. |

Anyone else looking forward to the Berube extension? Who is going to be the third goalie next season? - Cptmjl
I'm dreading the announcement of the inevitable Bailey extension. |

In the other article I love the quote from Weight where he was said he was brutally honest with the owners on a few things. Hopefully that meant getting rid of the players with no heart or passion |

Ok first the good news, no one upstate on l.i. or in Arizona needs to see me , cpt, or ihm streak only covered in isles colors cause snow is staying. I'm ok with weight staying hes a good leader, hes respected, the team played hard for him. He sounds like hes gonna get the assistants that he wants and that a positive. Hopefully one is in charge of the pp and the other a defensive structure. I think/pray Garth knows he need to make improvements and will do so, I'd love to see duchene or tj here but not if i lose barzal or jhs, anyone else I'd be ok losing to be honest(not jt or lee). Now Snow is a smug son of a female dog and when he does actually talk i want to hit him in his mouth, pretentious bumhole. How this guy stays employed is a huge mystery, but he did say he was willing to accept front office help, like he has a choice. Hopefully this means someone to help draft ect |

Staple on NHL game day right now says isles need a trade for 2c, duchene or Johnson were his two thoughts - Upstate_isles
How about a RW that can score 20-25 goals like a Silverberg or someone like that... |

This is probably the only franchise in prof sports who would keep a losing GM this long. At this point, he should be tired of hearing his same old lines. "We believe in this group", "always trying to improve" etc etc etc. I refuse to go to any games while he's President/GM. |

I took my kid to WWE Monday night Raw at the new coliseum the other night. I have to admit it looked pretty nice on the inside. They did a good job with it. I still think the concourse wouldn't be big enough but there was 14,000 or so there and I had no problem moving around but they also had one end closed off because of the set up. So if it was a true sellout I could see it still being a pain to walk around. |

I can't believe this guy is quasi asking for sympathy. This is honestly the most disappointing day as an is lander fan I've had in a verrrrrrry long time which says a lot. This team is (frank)ed and will be (frank)ed for the foreseeable future. (frank) this team. |
