at the time of the ROR deal, Laine was not even on the radar as how good he is. It really is hindsight at this point. Sometimes it takes luck to turn a franchise around with how how things fall into place with you.

Such as the Oilers stealing McDavid away from you guys. Sorry boys to bring that up.

I wouldn't be so doom and gloom about this draft....there isnt a Mceichatthews feat Laine in it but there is still a lot of good talent. You have eichel, no different how the Avs have MacK. You have a huge piece of the future nailed down. You dont need a franchise altering piece you need pieces the help compliment the talent you already have.

Bacterial meningitis is a public health issue, it would've gotten out. And it hits fast. You wouldn't have it for weeks before you were hospitalized. And bacterial would be a hell of a secret to keep. Everyone he came into contact with would have to be tested/given prophylactic antibiotics. Family/friends, teammates, equipment people, coaches, arena people, other teams and other teams arena people, if he did any public appearances, all those people.

There are other types, but they mainly affect immune compromised people.

MRSA would be an odd one to be in neuro surg. Unless it's systemic, and being an elite athlete you'd have to think they'd catch it before that, especially because they're on the look out for MRSA. And you'd likely have a skin lesion, or a sore throat/ear, wherever the infection started that was pus filled. MRSA makes itself known.

Speculation can be interesting, although ultimately fruitless since we have nothing to go on other than it's neurological. Which doesn't exactly narrow it down.

I dont think the Oilers are even close to Cup contending status, but he really did carry that team into the playoffs this year.

I dont like the oilers depth at all. Their 2nd and 3rd lines are hot garbage
