2-1 Comets after two periods - CanuckDon
Amazing that they're even in the playoff picture with how badly they've been beat up with call-ups/injuries, etc. |

I like the Edler that used to play with a chip on his shoulder towards the other team.
Calgary has Bouma and Wideman and the world famous Ferkland.
I for one am tired of watching pussies. Hell Hansen was one of if not my favourite player on the team.
Gritt is just one of things we're lacking. I want to see this team with fire. - thundachunk

Don is right it is pointless to argue with you guys. All anyone here as said is this team needs some tough guys.
You three twist it around that we are saying we need 23 knuckle dragers and gorillas .
Leafs got Martin and Komorov and they also have the dirt bag Kadri . Oilers got Maroon and Lucic to protect their team plus they had Nurse Hendricks and Gryba.
Maybe you guys don't have a problem of watching a pansy ass team get their dignity handed to them time after time but some of us do.
Edler does nothing well . Tanev blocks shots . They have finished bottom 10 three of four years. Your theory of turn the other cheek is as weak as the Swedes on this team - VANTEL
So your saying all we need is a Martin and a Komorov to turn this thang around? |

I think Van and the Yotes have a lot to do with that, no division has 2 teams that suck as bad. |

Gudbrandson wont get 5 mil.
You don't need a team full of EGs . I think EG was needed because we had no idea what Tryamkin would bring. He can bring every part of EGs game so I agree you don't need two of that type of player same as you don't need a Tanev/Edler combo.
At this point I am all or Keeping Stecher Hutton Tryamkin and drafting a guy like Foote who can put up points and be tough also.
The final stop gap piece could be a Gryba type or Franson with the shot all cheap fill ins. - VANTEL
I'd like to see a #1D added to the mix. |

You know Tanev is good when even an old school GM like Benning likes him. Hell, even Torts loved him. - Nucker101
Tanev is a legit top end D. He's just prone to injury playing balls out and on the light side. That he doesn't have a physical game is just not a strength not a knock.
But he's the most valuable vet asset that can be traded. So the focus on him. Personally I think if JB believes he can replace Ellder, not just his minutes, he'll pressure him to waive for a trade this off season. |

They do, but they also prop up the point totals of the other teams in the division in correlation.
Top team in our division is the Oilers, with 97 points. |

Sharks have really fallen off, that 1st round pick for Hansen is looking even more unlikely now than it was at the TDL |

If he could net us a good young forward, top 6 forward and a pick good. Deal done. |

Who was the other enforcer the Leafs iced when they had Colton Orr? |

If they keep EG, then definitely move Sbisa. I don't see the point in having so m any dmen who don't create offense. Tanev is at least a shutdown man and easy to play with for young dmen, and EG is the tough guy/mentor.
The rest need to provide some offense, so Sbisa should also be exposed/traded since he doesn't really provide much. I think a guy like Biega can do what he does, be physical in a bottom 6 pairing role and step in when injuries hit. - Nucker101
Most can agree with that. Stecher is turning into a puck mover and is one of my favorites along with Tryamin.
Hutton is doing fine (not great) for a second year guy |
|
|
|
I really like Ben Hutton, he needs a lot of work, to be sure. But he moves the puck well, skates well, knows when to pinch, he could be a top pairing defenceman if he puts the work in. He needs to pick his spots better, Tryamkin as well. IMO Hutton/Tryamkin/Stecher are our core for the future, and I'll be sad to see any of those 3 go anywhere. |

Our best chance is by drafting one and we can get another first round pick by trading Edler or Tanev |
