I have a bad feeling this is gonna turn into Edmonton 2.0 with these guys in charge - LeftCoaster
Its a very real possibility but at-least Benning can draft outside the first round, which was one of EDM's biggest downfalls.....so theres that. |

Gotta hit on those first round picks though....as well as the second round and beyond. Not to say he hasn't, but his track record worries me. |

One thing I liked about Trevors interview was they will work on scoring this Summer.
Tanevs name has been coming up quite a bit lately and I think he will be moved for a forward this Summer.
I also have a feeling they will make more bold moves. |

I think his record is pretty good all things considered.
Year one,
Virtanen (ok, it's far from over).
McCann. (Still sold on the kid)
Demko - great.
Tree - great.
Forsling - great.
Year two.
Boeser - great
Brisbois - who knows.
Zhuknov - same.
Neil - same, though doubtful.
Gaudette - great value.
Year three, to early to tell.

Everything they try fails, I'm not optimistic. |

I was more thinking before he came to Vancouver. I know he wasn't a GM but he was an assistant and a head scout. |

I think it will need to be a big trade. Boeser will likely stick with the club next season, he seems ready. granlund is a lock as is baerschi, LE as well which means that 1 top 9 role isn't locked down. With JV, Goldie, Molino, whoever we draft this year(some kids could be ready for a 9 game trial after draft) you want them to all think they have a shot at that final spot in top 9 to push them to work hard this summer. Plus possible 1 year signings for TDL fodder as well. a D + F combination could net us a solid return. Ug the F get a 1st and maybe a prospect. |

Linden asked abt Goldy scratch: At the end of the day, the coach makes the decision. Doesn't matter if you or I disagree.

Like I said I think their will be a lot of movement. You can't sell this to fans.
One top 9 forward will not take them from 174 goals to 250 |

Judging by that same record, the guy is pure money when it comes to (ironically), the non-Canadian development leagues.
Let's hope he continues to focus on the NCAA/USHL and overseas lol. |

Your right, but replacing megna, chaput, and upgrading a position could add an extra 40-60 goals to that number. Also getting an actual NHL 4th line that could chip in 10-20 combined goals would help. |

As long as Sedins are here you can't jump up 60 goals. Too much goes through them . They are waiting to be taken to the Glue Factory

That is true, teams tend to become pathetic when players have a huge say in coaching decisions. |

Not really, you get a coach that doesn't care what the twins think in terms of deployment, lines(splitting them up), etc and what will they do?
If they throw a temper tantrum you tell them to shut the (frank) up and ask for a trade. Remind them that they are players and will do what the coach thinks will win the most games. They would be more effective split than together at this point in their careers. |

They were technically still effective together at that point, Torts just didn't know how to use them and their production suffered. This year was a real wake up call. Split them next year and our team will be better for it. |
