It's nice to see that your ignorance concerning hockey also happens to translate over to the real world

Uh…right. Maybe not the 'goon' thing but guys who can actually play hockey plus goon it up when req'd?? Where would the Oil be without Lucic Maroon Kassian and even Larsson coming in there and providing almost a complete culture change. Sure McJesus is one thing but remove some 'goons' they ain't no 100 point club.

Horvat and Boeser will provide leadership yes but you have to balance…and that includes 'goons' and a tough mentality shift.

- LordHumungous

That makes sense. You need balance. Funny you brought up BB and leadership. It was so mocked days ago.

I wouldn't call it a great trade, i'd call it a trade with great upside. It certainly has it's risks.

You would think that Benning and his team of scouts would have known everything about the kid that we know now, minus his brief tryout with the Canucks.

- golfingsince

They probably did. Sometimes getting traded can be a wake up call for people. The kid has a lot of talent. If he was a sure thing we would not have been able to acquire him in a trade.

If Comets make it into the playoffs who gets more credit? The players or Green?

"However, his brief stint came with an adverse reaction. Reports surfaced Goldobin was not well-received by his teammates in the locker room during the Islanders game. "

Before anyone freaks out, this was written months before he was traded.

- golfingsince

That just sound like he got what he needed to hear and worked on his game. He will continue to improve.

I generally 'dish it out' through sound, reasonable hockey points, of which you very rarely engage. You my friend are the one that resorts to childish insults and stereotypes, but, I will admit that its all very entertaining lol.

Boeser will provide leadership you can tell that from the way he carries himself. But you do need a little meanness on the club and it can come in various forms.

Lucic is a bad contract and overpaid, good value guys like Maroon and Kassian I'd be fine with.

Yeah but he's played 4 games now instead of 2 so he's twice as qualified.

I agree, but if it turns out the kid amounts to nothing and neither does the 4th rounder (this part is highly likely) then it's a bad trade.

I'm fine with the trade, I just wouldn't call it great.

Well, if its any consultation, the team did happen to crash and burn.
Maybe in a few years your playoff prediction will actually come to fruition

He's as soft as anyone else in the lineup.

I was always a fan of the Sutter boys, but the apple has fallen far from the tree.

Well we can't all be as smart as you and your on point view of politics , your GM skills and over all expertise on everything.

Having a few guys like Maroon or Lucic or other big guys who can actually play the game would be really nice for a young team. Easier said than done though. The main focus, IMHO, should be acquiring talent though, that's gotta come first.

I do agree he is overpaid…but he is there for a culture change what he can bring in the playoffs…and that requires cash.

Rarely stands up for teammates, doesn't seem like a natural leader, he was apart of those Pit teams that were bullied by the Flyers in the playoffs. I can understand Gudbranson as a leader for the next wave, but not Sutter. He has the mentality of a role player and the talent of one as well.
