I used to like watching the Canadian broadcasts more then these homer American ones. But listening to all the giddiness over the Habs, Alberta and Ontario teams is a bit too much.

Is it harder this season being a Nucks fan with all the Canadian clubs likely to be in the playoffs?

Well there is the Jets who couldn't find the coaching and goaltending to get there. Misery of two. Future of ......?!?

GG has the Flames going good.
Leafs r trending up but only as good as Matthews can lead them.
Oilers same thing also riding on 1 players coattails.

Then its our sad Canucks who have had father time catch up to them.
Question is will it be 50 or 10 or 5yrs to get it back on the rails?

This saying is literally making me like the Canucks less and less right now.

They were supposed to draft and develop. NHL isn't the place to be developing players that don't belong. That's what the AHL is for and when they are ready then they get a chance in the NHL at the end of the development stage, not because you signed a contract with Van.

Th two bolded statements don't make much sense for the Leafs. They are significantly more than a 1 person team.

Mathews has gone long stretches without goals or points and guys like mariner, nylander, kadri, etc have picked up the slack ...they have good special teams as well which is not based on one player

Freddie has a lot to do with the Toronto team's success this season. Several other forwards deserve a mention. But Toronto's defense remains an open sore/ wound that needs attention.

It wasn't father time. It was bad management that didn't plan for the future by ensuring a steady pipeline of talent. Having scouts like Ron Delorme wasting picks and years. That guy is the biggest reason imo that the Canucks are in this situation.
