This is year 3 in the rebuild it had more retool in it at the start. Like the Laffs tried for a decade or so with no playoffs. By no means take your recent standing as success. Look at the Avs and so many other upstarts to flirt with rookie scoring and lucky goaltending.

It's the tear down mantra that drives it. They want the team to suck for draft picks. Have a cap floor roster to able to take poopty contracts for a prospect and draft pick add on. Why any decent player not in an ELC is vilified.

I know I'm the only one on here but I actually don't mind the LE signing. We need a few vets around and he goes to the tough areas to score. He isn't a bad role model for the kids. He is good to have around once the Sedins are gone

I like the LE signing. I dont think he was used well this year. We brought him in because he's capable of scoring 30 goals, but you don't put him in the position to get those goals. He was bounced all over the lineup all year, didn't have any time to develop chemistry with anyone. He score a fair bit being the net front presence on the PP but WD used Sutter in that spot. I think he struggled mentally, new city, new team, new coach, new systems, etc.

Next year, if he's used right, he will have more of an impact on the team.

I can see that. Those against probably don't care. They only want a tear down and fill up of draft picks. Any add on like LE is counter intuitive to that agenda.
