I suppose it's all relative. I hate the team and vets from the last 6 years. So any change has me excited. Doesn't take much I suppose

I'm excited about Horvat/Boeser and some of the other young players/prospects, but things won't start getting really exciting in this city until the upswing is even on the horizon.

The process will be fun to follow for hardcore fans as long as they continue on with the path they established at this year's TDL. Last thing I want is another Loui Eriksson contract in 2018 when the Sedins are off the books.

Never having a stud D has always been our achilles heal.
Generational players upfront are few & few & far in between.
Those too we have never had. Other than stealing Bure

It is what it is. It will be a few years before they are decent but I dont really care. I enjoy the draft and watching the young players more anyways

Yeah, see my edit. It's much more tolerable to lose when you have multiple quality prospects to follow and lots of future draft picks to get excited about. It gets depressing if teams that are already better have more picks and just as good of a prospect pool.

I'm with u on that. Now tolerating all the so-called fans will not be so enjoyable.

Could Jovocop and Russian Rocket Bure be categorized there...?!?

As for the future we don't have any in the stable or on the horizon for the next couple of drafts so let's be happy with team balance and hard working talent.

I know I'm the only one on here but I actually don't mind the LE signing. We need a few vets around and he goes to the tough areas to score. He isn't a bad role model for the kids. He is good to have around once the Sedins are gone

there better when they get 2 days off before games, theres no reason for 16 back to backs in a year and the oilers have 6 and Edmonton is in the middle of nowhere, the descrepency shouldn't be that bad unless you know.

Sure he can have a positive impact next season. But the tear it down crowd will focus on him with Sedins retiring. I can see him not wanting that circus and waiving. The new young core leaders will be the role models by then. Won't need that from him just players to make an impact.

Yup, many on here won't survive a rebuild. The amount of wining over Sutters contract is outrageous. It's as if some posters are paying his salary for (frank) sakes

Well they are idiots that likely haven't played a game in their lives. You can't dress a roster consisting of twenty 21 year olds

Won't need him as role model. He's cleaned up the off ice stuff anyway. Still relatively young. His scoring, speed and power forward game is good for the team. As a local guy he could favor the Nucks as a UFA.

Lol yeah you need balance. Barring any trades by 2018 off season you would have Bo, Sven, Granlund, Guddy, Sutter, Tanev and Edler as regulars between 23-32. Hutton, Tree, Sbisa and Stecher in the 23 plus range too. LE would be oldest player with Sedins retiring.

You can dress a roster of 7 19/20 yr olds though. Fun Fact: William Nylander has more rookie of the month awards than Jake Virtanen has NHL points this year. Good luck with the rebuild!
