YES!
If they are playing like the team in the beginning of the year putting up 4.5 goals a game and allowing much less than they are a LOT better than the way they are playing now
You can only control how you play, you cont control how your opponents play. - MiloslavHorava
so you advocate going all out the last 5 games, even though it will do absolutely nothing to change the fact that it's Rangers-Canadiens in the playoffs |

No I advocate lighting a fire under some guys, Like the leaders that have not led (Step, McD, and Staal)
Also figuring out what they hell they are going to do with their D. Too many guys are complacent.
and maybe its time to realize Grabner has regressed to the mean and he SHOULD be on the 4th line with Lindberg and Fast.. get them together so they can be a solid 4th line for the playoffs... because Grabners hands of stone are back and that is who he is. |

So, you are saying that the only thing that matters in the outcome of a game is the 2 points and the placement in the standings?
You can't see where playing well and finding lines and pairings that are in synch will help them against Montreal?
That is a Tanner like attitude. eg. "faceoffs don't matter."
If anything, when the points don't matter that is exactly the time when playing for pride and focus becomes the most important thing.
Like Miro said, flipping a switch in the playoffs is a fairy tale. You need to believe in yourself and your teammates. That is bred by good play. |

totally agree on Grabner, shift him to the 4th line with Fast and Lindberg. that would be a REALLY good 4th line while also making room for Buch |

Would you settle for a hug and a meaningful discussion where people can put forth differing viewpoints and have a meaningful debate and question each other instead? |

Meaningful debate would assume you listen too, and admit when you are wrong. As in the case of Stepan. He was doing everything but score, now he is scoring and he still is terrible to you. 50-60 point two way-player. Proven Playoff performer. Has been on winning teams at every level. Enough already. Is he paid a little too much, probably, but only 500K to 1M too much. |

I NEVER said he was terrible. Go back and look at my posts.
I said I am not sold on his "resurgence" because Kreider and Zucc ahve been breaking their back to set him up and get him out of his funk right now. Basically because the games don't mean anything and they would still over that course of time back into the playoffs. My concerns were A) I hope that doesn't affect their game come playoff time where they are passing up shots and B) Stepan wont be getting all of those chances in the playoffs because winning is more important come day 1 of the playoffs then Step's stats or his mental state if he isn't scoring
That's what I said. |

To say that Step and McD haven't led the team is laughable. Stats aren't everything. Those are the guys that do the little things right on a regular basis. During the slump, Stepan was doing pretty much everything right except putting up points. With the exception of maybe Skjei, McD has been the most consistent Dman. And when AV does bench or demote a guy for giving less than 100% and coasting (Buch, Vesey, Miller, etc.) everyone loses their poop. He promotes Fast and gives him more ice time because he's doing the right thing and everyone complains that he's not a 3rd line player and wants to fire AV for it. It's so stupid. |
