somebody who loves the draft as much as you surely would rather pick 20th over 25th in June right? |

someday some Lundqvist-hating NYR fans will realize what they don't have anymore. It won't be a fun day. I fear it as a Giants fan with Eli.

I don't expect them to win every game but I do expect them to fix their deficiencies and play consistent competitive hockey, they have not done that, they've been a fortunate team, the last 60 minute effort I can remember was that game in Toronto, I'm not even sure how long ago that was, every night there's a lapse that goes for 20 minutes or more, i don't see any urgency or confidence - KreiderBomb
Probably because you're not looking for any.
I don't like to be combative on here (well, sometimes, but not on this thread), but you guys look for problems and deficiencies without ever noticing positives. At least that's how your comments seem. This may piss you off, but it doesn't make me wrong.
There were lots or positives AND negatives last night.
Nick Holden should never wear that sweater again as far as I'm concerned. I don't see anything he does that makes him a better option than Kampfer.
Brady Skjei is a bonafide stud in the making. I definitely saw that last night.
Hank looked pretty well terrible, but it's been 3 weeks since he's faced anything other than shots from friends how didn't want to reinjure his hip. That's why he's getting 5-6 games to get into playoff shape. Remember what he looked like in his first couple games back last time? Then, once he got up to full speed, he looked better than he has for 2-3 years.
Hold the reins, my friend. The real season is coming. |

the only thing they have to play for is Ranger fans not killing themselves
really, the best thing they could do is lose and get better draft position - jimbro83
Actually, those are playoff teams.... with the exception of Philly..LOL
If they don't right the ship soon and start playing up to their potential, they will limp in and quickly limp out of the playoffs just like they did last year. There is no "Flipping the switch".
It is on the coach to get them prepared and if guys aren't playing up to expectations, no matter their tenure, they need to be called out and have their ice time or responsibilities cut in favor of guys who are producing and giving it their all.
If they are out in Round 1 there will be a lot of justified talk about AV being a coach who gets great regular season results but when the gritty playoff game comes knocking, his teams are under prepared for the rigors of a more mentally and physically demanding game
That my 2 cents

Holden has been putrid of late, yes Hank needs to be better but so do a lot of players, the SH needs to be stopped but the 3rd goal Miller just skates away from Tierney and on his 2nd goal to tie the game there's nothing Hank can do there, for his detractors every goal is his fault even the empty netters, it's too late to take anything as consistent, they've been sputtering for the last 30 or so games, basically .500 so that's the momentum we're going into the playoffs with. |

Were in! That's all that matters. Could have folded after sj goes up 3-1 nice comeback. Now start resting people play hank the rest of the way. I was trolling the pens blog the other day, their hoping the rangers over take them so they won't get bluejackets in first round.they want no part of Columbus.their also already whining about their injuries built in excuse. ![:duh:](https://hbcf.s3.amazonaws.com/images/emoticons/duh.gif) - Bobd62

if Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Minnesota, Anaheim, Edmonton, San Jose all finished strong at the end and the Rangers don't, the Rangers could rise in the draft 6 or 7 spots

So the previous 5-6 seasons were the mirage and not last year? You know when half the team was hurt, they couldn't buy a goal and they played the hottest team the league saw in 5 years? Got it

PP has been the brightest spot but the PK has imploded like last season, this team is light years better than last season's team, depth talent even the D is deeper not by much but better so if we go out like a light this year it's a major disappointment and changes are needed namely coaches |

I hope AV stops any talk of the team being tired , because the schedule was easier on our team the second half , and because the injuries timed out to our benefit.
Mindset is important going into the playoffs. |

I agree with the light. But you guys are out of control with the light being out already. Let it go out first for crying out loud
Comparing last year to this year:
Didn't have- Grabners speed. Hayes and Miller turning a corner. A healthy Mac or Girardi. Skjei arriving yet. A solid Hank (still has to get there this year). 4 lines that can score
Did have- Boyle. Eric Staal did nothing. Injuries. Gassed team. Opponent that wasn't gonna lose no matter who it played and it proved it.
Did I miss anything? Bottom line is it's a better team in a better situation and that alone is something to hold onto for you guys |

I do have to say, that I find it funny that a couple of months ago, Nick Holden was basically Jesus Christ on skates, and now he's total dog crap.
I do think he will be the odd man out if every defensemen is healthy for the playoffs. Funny how things change. |

Come on, you cant see them as a team limping into the playoffs this year? You think they are hitting their stride? you think they are playing well?
We can have difffering opinions, mine is that they are not playing well at all right now, they are a shell of the team from the beginning of the year that was lighting it up. They are going to face a Montreal team that has been hot. What will the outcome be if they dont get their friggin sh!t together and quick?

YES!
If they are playing like the team in the beginning of the year putting up 4.5 goals a game and allowing much less than they are a LOT better than the way they are playing now
You can only control how you play, you cont control how your opponents play. |

They were 6-3-1 to finish last season
3-1 last 4 games
Hardly limping.
They have shown ME a lot of things recently. I haven't been OBBSESSED like most with wins or pts. Last night the comeback from the dead it seemed like, showed me something. Winning in minnisota after flying and arriving at 3 am showed me something. I'm not letting a period here or there get me crazy. All this season they have yet to play a so called "meaningful game" in the grand scheme of things |
