probably JB's only mistake so far, maybe the LE contract, but he might bounce back.

This kid better at least work is ass off in camp next summer, or I'll be calling him a disappointment...... or a goat.

Once Hank is gone, you better believe Bo will be captain. He's our point leader, reped us well at the ASG. Unless he completely sucks next year (and with his type of game, there's no reason to believe that) I would think he's next in line. And Canucks nation will rejoice.

Points mean squat. Leadership is not based on offence.

Serious question...

How many of you think Torts was thrilled to inherit Henrik as captain? IMO the incompatibility of the leadership structure he inherited is why he failed here.

- DrChristianTroy

Not serious answer.................

Scheduling is a geographical problem we cannot avoid.
The NHL could make it more equitable by making eastern teams have it rougher.
Adding the LVGK & potentially Seattle will lighten up the load.

Bullpoop, there no reason for 16 back to backs spread it out like they do with the coilers

They were his biggest supporters. Played PK and blocked shots like he wanted. His failure is on him.

So whatever you want to say about Hank's style of leadership the supporting of coaches is not a good example.

You telling me Bo is only about offence? This guy trains all summer, he's a stud, hates to lose. He will be captain once Hank is gone, just DEAL WITH IT.

Virtanen is certainly saying the right things...he mentioned that competition will be steep with Boucher, Goblin and Boeser so he needs to have the best summer of his life training and improving his conditioning. Time will tell whether or not he takes it serious.

this beta-led team with the no-push culture coach in the soft logo uniforms had the most successful stretch this franchise has ever seen. But yeah, terrible job by them

So Schneider Shink Sedins are the beta carrot tops?

21 year old junior D with a big bump in points. Know anything else about him? Wonder what JB has in mind?
- Nuck4U

That's all I got. Had read his name a couple times in regards to players that Benning had been scouting.

The 2nd A isn't on the team yet... No rush.

We still have Luongo under contract?

After losing Hansen/Burrows, this team is a little weak on RW (Burrows would swap sides a lot). If Virtanen is in great shape and skates well in camp, I could see him getting a longer sniff than Boucher/Goldy (is goblin the nickname now? I like it... its not obvious)/ Boeser in the NHL next season. Given the fact that he has a year of playing in the NHL and the AHL, and should probably play 3rd line next year. I'd rather see him than Gaunce (1 CAREER GOAL)

I think Jovocop should have been Captain in his day, then Bieksa, then ...
- kaptaan

Bieksa was one of the more selfish players we had in that last generation. He would be a horrible captain. Look how many times he put himself ahead of the team in the playoffs and stood in front of camera's/mics giving the team we are playing billboard material over and over whether it was Ferland in the Calgary series or players in every series in our entire 4 rounds of playoffs in 2011... Look how many times the Sedins or someone else was taken out with a run from behind, elbow, sucker punch and Bieksa does nothing more than ask the player "you wanna go" but dare to slash his shins during play or make fun of him and he'll chase you all night making that player his own personal assignment... Let's not forget that he knocked a team mate out in public in Winnipeg for mouthing him off... in front of other players on his team... once again, his own ego above everything else. Then there was the famous Bieksa/Kesler clique in the dressing room... they were not very good with young players coming in... why people think that jack ass would be a good captain is beyond me...

There's a reason Bieksa was one of the most hated guys in the league for a 2 year stretch. I was on board.... until he totally female doged out against ferland.... Bieksa is all about the fame.

U not I stated offence early in your post. If u cannot read properly don't twist my words. I'm in no rush. FYI u know squat about what a captain is all about & the responsibilities that come with it. BO will be captain soon enough.

He needs to play nastier then. Earn that Goblin nickname, it looks like he relies a lot on the stretch pass.

It's not about that. We were talking about future leadership. Who has the qualities to be that. For a young core going forward he will be one of them.

This is based on tracking him from draft and how he's trending and developing in making this team. It's not a reach. Many players with higher profile billings, before even entering the league, get pegged as future leaders for their teams.

So take it as speculation or observation and theorizing. More will be revealed in time.
