Funny how a general preference for alpha leadership gets spun into cock measurements & nationalities...
- DrChristianTroy

We are Canuck fans, we all.have to love soft players. We don't get to choose if we like small fast players or large aggressive types, we must be sheep.

I wouldn't care if Bo's junk wasn't big enough to pass for a clit, he's a leader.
- DrChristianTroy

But is he an Alfalfa leader?

It's absolutely stupid, the big balls was an old AC/DC connection. And then Fisticus made the groin comparison.

The whole alpha/beta male comment is a bit over the top, there are a lot of other variables for the Canucks to win a cup than a "C" on Horvats jersey.

Toews, Stamkos, Tavares, Zetterberg, McDavid, M. Koivu, Paccioretty, McDonaugh, Karlsson, Giroux, Crosby, Pavelski, Pietreangelo, Getzlaf.

Not exactly the scariest bunch of captains.

- Codes1087

I know what your gettin at, but unlike the Henrik all of those players will throw fisticuffs for their teamates, who are not named sedin.
Henrik is a terrific captain on and off the ice no one is saying he isnt, but we're wanting a captain who will defend all of his teamates and himself. There have been moments where I watch the sedin just skate away from a hit or not defend the goalie.

It's all getting skewed because people have their own definitions... Let me put it this way. IMO leaders are alphas, followers are betas. Put letters on leaders, not yes men.

Does agreeing with this make me a yes man?

It has been a tough year and there are a lot of theories about what the Canucks need. Lets start with some NHL level talent in key positions coupled with a high compete level.

Only if you're agreeing when you really disagree.

Ignore the Pariah.
- VanHockeyGuy

kind of harsh to name anyone a pariah here.... I don't see him trashing anyone on a regular basis, trolling, etc... he might have ideas you don't agree with or opinions you don't like but haranguing the guy, who is a Nux fan, doesn't seem really rational to me...

would have scored more if there was push back and Luo had been pulled in game 3
- kaptaan

Oh what could have been if AV had the guts to start Schneider in gm 6

I will agree that people have their own definitions, but I will also say that it's not as black and white as you make it out. Hendrik is definitely not a yes man, Willie isn't telling him to turn the other cheek. He is leading in his own way and the team is following his lead.

This isn't an endorsement of Hank as captain, it's just another way to look at things. Making Horvat captain will not change the teams fortunes, "several" other factors need to fall into place.

I'm still (frank)ing mad Luongo was named captain

I know I'm late but I really liked Lou as Captain(my second fave tendy in the League as well)... but I'm a goalie so maybe I'm biased

But did you ever feel that Hank gave off the impression of Captain to all of his teamates?

This to me, is the most critical issue with the team, I still haven't been sold the Canucks defence is set, the Sedins should be 3rd line, and there needs a couple more top 6 positions needed. There are more than enough bottom 6 in the system, and Miller could carry another year, Markstrom is not there yet.

I keep pounding this drum, the league is a franking joke to put out a schedule on the Canucks like this year and past years weren't much better. This is the main reason for all these injuries.

That starts with a stud D that can run the PP also.
In goal we might that in Demko.
Up front much better puck retrieval & all around toughness

The defense is not set until Subban is playing on the team.

Scheduling is a geographical problem we cannot avoid.
The NHL could make it more equitable by making eastern teams have it rougher.
Adding the LVGK & potentially Seattle will lighten up the load.

Hank is captain to this team, by work ethic and mentoring. But no, I'm not a fan of his leadership style, and I hated Messier style also.

Again, several other variables are needed.

Subban could be a shooting coach for Tanev etc
