That is 4 LW's. How are Boucher and Goldy the only ones battling for LW. I think Goldy, JV, Boeser should be battling for 2 RW spots and the loser goes to Utica. - Retinalz
Again this analysis is based it on shooting side and then ranking. See below.
Left shooter -------------- Right shooter
Danny.--------------------- BB
LE -- ---------------------- JV
Sven. ---------------------- Shore
Granlund
Goldy
Boucher
Why say Granlund as left shooter takes RW. Leaving Goldy and Boucher for last LW.

I get that. It's also a numbers and needs game. So this is the breakdown as it is now.
15 Derek Dorsett ca RW 30 6-0 192 R/
46 Jayson Megna us C 26 6-1 195 R/-
64 Borna Rendulic RW 24 6-2 200 R/-
6 Brock Boeser us RW 19 6-1 191 R/-
42 Drew Shore us C 26 6-3 205 R/-
9 Jack Skille RW 29 6-1 216 R/-
20 Brandon Sutter us C 27 6-3 191 R/-
18 Jake Virtanen ca RW 20 6-1 229 R/-
If Canucks are going for true right shots on the RW and things stay the same then JV has to beat out 3 of them to earn a spot. Assume Sutter kept as C instead of wing.
So BB and JV could fill 2 of the RW wing positions in top 9. Sven, Danny, LE and Granlund make the rest with one of the latter two left shooters playing on RW.
Leaving one of Shore and Skille to battle out for RW on 4th line. While Goldy and Boucher battle for 4LW. Using Guance & Chaput to battle for 4C.
Conclusion by shooting position basis and C optional play bonus.
Goldy and Randulic are sent to AHL. Boucher kept for PP shot and 4LW with Chaput/Guance rotating in. Cram and Skille waived for depth on Comets. DD & Rodin kept on IR until others injured or if BB & JV falter and are later sent down.
Megna not signed. But Side note they have Megna listed as 6'1 195lbs.
Besides being a right shooter must be the reason in what WD sees when having played him so much - Nuck4U
If i were JV i focus on my game & what i can do with my skillset.
I take the spot from someone else.
His size & speed & big hits few can do on our team. |

I fully expect him to be back in Utica next season. Hope that Goldy trains with Tryamkin over the summer too. - manvanfan
Nothing wrong with that. If he busts his ass & gets beat out thats good news about other players. When or if JV gets into elite shape then watch out. Everything else will fall into place IMO. |

I would be happy if he even got a call up next season to practice and sit in the press box from time to time. |

Gaunce -------------- Dorsett - manvanfan
In first post on shooting side I had left Guance at Center and to rotate in for 4LW.
Left DD on IR. Safer since neck surgery you know. Allows for Shore to play RW who can also take right sided face offs with center ability. Or play there to feed left shot Boucher for example. |

Playing the off wing gives better shot angles & cutting across the middle |

With all this turmoil and roster upheaval the air lift of bodies & ELC's signed leaves us to speculating a ton. Many r bound for Utica & the ECHL & other UFA's prolly don't stick. Skille & Shore have done ok & prolly get another sniff at a contract next training camp. Cram & others who knows. |

DD is back skating. I don't know if I want more Shore, Megna, Chaput types. I would personally rather see players with a lot more experience. Dominic Moore, Daniel Winnik for centers. Ryan White, Lauri Korpikoski for wings. |

Exactly. Only kept 3 of the right shooters on RW. Sutter at center. DD on IR. Sent the rest down. Megna packing. |

I like projecting next years line up based on this seasons play.
Utica bound players r aplenty & so far JB has acquired or signed many wingers.
I see that as meaning high competition for 1-2 spots next year.
C & D depth prolly is done at the draft.
So here i go again.....
Dank Hank Granlund
Sven BO BB
JV Sutter LE
Cram Chaput DD
Spares: idk but i think we lose Gaunce to LVGK
Call ups Goldy Labate
Edler Stecher
Hutton Tanev
Tryamkin EG
Sbisa
OJ plays 9 games then idk |

I based it on what they have. They can change around the 4th line guys. It was more to show lack of depth on top 9 for right shooters and why JV and BB have a good chance to make it.
As for DD probably safer to keep on IR. Skating has nothing to do with his neck. He could be like that with no contact for another year easy. To fully recover for contact sports like hockey from that type of surgery takes a lot of time. |

I really don't like your D pairings, i'm sorry. I also don't have a solution for them. Every time I make my own pairings, I also find a new hole. Trading Tanev for me is still the best idea.
Trade Tanev and a 3rd for Marc Staal and Kevin Hayes

Yah all my line ups r what seems logical or from history.
The D i always consternate over & a trade also keeps coming to mind.
I want more scoring from D. |

I think once the scoring from forwards improve and a better system that D scoring will also get better. Once the PP gets better too. pipe dreams |

Ideally my line up is taking a few things as wishful thinking.
I also presume JB will keep going with the youth movement.
Tankers rejoice 😂😂 the pain is coming if this is the scenario
I will assume Gaunce is in LV.
Tanev gets traded.
DD retires.
JB decides OJ makes the roster. Not debating the wisdom of this.
Tanev for a blue chipper or mid 1st/3rd.
Edler Stecher
OJ EG
Hutton Tryamkin
Sbisa

Sure. So why not have the whole team be left shooting. Just like a left shooting player a right shooting guy plays a role in systems and strategy on plays. A good team needs balance. It all matters. |

Yes we do. Answer is skill & speed kills for it to work.
Possession will be the real challenge.
Drawing lots of penalties would be nice seeing as we r getting faster. |

MACKENZIE ENTWISTLE is getting a favourable ranking of 35 in NA. 25 points in 54 games in most drafts you would be found closer to 70ish. |
