I'm reading up on this Michael DiPietro kid. Goalie in the upcoming draft. Isn't projected to go in the first two rounds by a lot of people but at the same time some others have him as one of the top 20 talents in the draft. One report I just read said he'll be the steal of the draft...
With two 3rd round picks and three 4th round picks this could possibly be someone worth moving up for if he's still there after 2 rounds. Never hurts hurts to add another G prospect in my eyes. - hereticpride

Perhaps, but adding size & scoring among forwards would be at least my priority if of course they are the BPA at the time |

True. Just looking out for value picks where we can get them.
Speaking of goalies do people think the Pens are going to be able to move MAF? Because I can't wait to see Vegas take Matt Murray from them. |

Sanheim is looking much better from what I saw over the weekend as opposed to a couple months ago. He is improving in making the little plays in his own zone to alleviate the pressure.
It's entirely possible that 4 will be ready early on next year. Hagg, Sanheim, Morin, and Myers.
I feel like no matter what Myers can do in camp, he will spend time in the AHL and the older prospects will be filtered in first. Based on the way Hexy does things and also his injuries this year, they may want to ease him in. |

But then you'd somehow need to sign or trade for a goalie to expose. And most teams already have their goaltending options sorted out for the purposes of this draft.
I kind of think it happens barring the Pens somehow getting Fluery dealt with another goalie coming back. |

I just want to see Morin at some point next year. It feels like he was drafted ages ago. Also because it'll get Manning out of the lineup. |

Any one of the top 15 prospects is going to make me happy honestly. That's where I am with this current roster. |

should that happen it is a blunder of hilariously miserable proportions and should land JR an involuntary commitment to assisted living.
i dont imagine fleury has any trade value, but i have to just hope there is some plan. whether it means a gentlemans agreement in place with either MAF or with las vegas themselves. perhaps i'm giving the pens brass too much credit, but this has to be on the radar and not just ostriching their way through it. |

Teams are allowed to trade Vegas a pick to not take a specific player. Maybe it comes to that. But if it does I imagine Vegas will leverage the Pens into giving up their 1st to keep him. If you're picking in the late 1st anyway that might not be the worst thing in the world to be honest. |

if it comes to that, again its just a huge mistake because it never should have been allowed to reach that point. if need be, i think i would lose the first. the cap savings of having murray for the next few years is too great of an asset. |

Smallwood has been having his ass handed to him recently. I don't know who's worse out of the Philly sports writers anymore. They are all absolutely god awful. - hereticpride
Smallwood and Hayes are in a tier to themselves. I honestly can't think of any good writers at phillydotcom. They all write like it's the 70s and we can't fact check them with one click |
