Apparently that's not the case he can go to the NHL and request that he's going to play this year and he forfeits his last year of college to become a free agent this year

I thought he played fairly well for his frist NHL game.

They're not going to trade an established guy. They'll trade a guy who could be

much like Reinhart. You're taking on some risk but its probably your best bet. Ekblad has had a rough year, but i bet most of us in hindsight would go defence in that draft.

So im not sure i see the issue in at least exploring that option.

This time next year, we will forget Ekblad even had a tough time this season.

You honestly didn't read any of the points about sam.. no one said he is bad.. just said given his peers we would've expected a little bigger bump in his development this year.

and if we're going to be a good team he needs to be more consistant in both ends.

I won't forget that he's already had like 5 concussions in his short career though.

Ehlers, fabbri, Pasta, nylander and Draistl have all found a new gear this year. We should want him to be the best. Yes he is good, yes he is young and yes we should want him to take another step

Those are his peers in the sense they are from the same draft but with the exception of Draisatl, none of those players were considered for the number 2 pick.

That is a hindsight comparison although again I understand wanting him to produce more.

That being said, had Murray went "against the grain" and did pick Pastrnak #2 overall, he might be labeled as a genius right now.
