Their division is still quite tight - I think there is a greater chance they are still playing hard to improve their seedings. - Atomic Wedgie
Divisions are tight every year. It won't stop teams from getting the chance to rest their best players. It happens every year |

It's way easier to suck than to be in the thick of things. Maybe we all should rethink the Shanaplan. Tanking was much less stressful |

Leaf fans are used to having excuses to ease the pain.
Yes, it's 5 games in 7 days with 2 back to backs, but these guys are young and they maybe have to go all out for 20-22 mins of ice time for the best players. Not that bad.
With the amount of training they do and without long travel that should not be a problem physically. Mentally is a different story.
Anderson on the other hand will need to get some help from Mcilhenny, because he might get worn out both physically and mentally. |

That's pretty big. We could really use him.
I haven't minded Marchenko's game of late though. Kind of sucks he will get the boot and not Hunwick |

Ive really focused on watching Hunwick in the last 6-7 games and he is easily the worst defender on this team. Not even kidding, almost every time he placed under pressure, especially along the boards, it's a turn over. He's flat out terrible. |

He just isn't good at anything. At least Polak is a good PKer and can let off a decent slap shot every now and then. Hunwick offers nothing to his team |

And if u do get 3rd you likely get the habs. A team you 0-15 against. U guys need to somehow miss the playoffs and avoid the first round embarassment against wsh or mtl - 1993_Cup_Champs
If the Leafs make the playoffs, no team including Washington, Pittsburgh - especially Montreal and Ottawa will want to face them. If we get the chance, It would be a pleasure to beat the shiit out of the Habs.

Agree, but there are at least two more, d-men on the team that are putrid. Pens won a cup last year with a bunch of crap on D. I would imagine that the defense will be addressed significantly in the offseason.

Not defending him..but Polak / Hunwicks #'s have finally been on the positive side the last couple/few games.

Apparently Hyman left practice for an undisclosed reason.
I'd be curious to see someone else on Matthews wing. |

I'd like to see Leo, at least he usually gets the puck...doesnt fall down and gets a pass to somebody. |

Nah, Leo is in his right place on Kadri's line, and while he doesn't give much going forward, he's one of the best defensive forwards that we have - moving him would make that line much less effective against top lines. Personally I'd slot Leivo right in there - he's effective enough along the boards but brings much better hands than Hyman. |

maybe...I don't think Leivo is a retrieval type player...but whatever...it would be nice to see anyone on that line just for a change.
Leo gives a lot more then his point totals show....but that's my opinion. |

Ah, the yo yo feelings I have for Soshnikov. Thought he'd be a darkhorse...then he reminded me of Suglobov.....the last 10 or so games, he looks like he could be something more than a plug again, especially last night. if he had better linemates than Martin and Boyle....ah he's probably destined to go to the Hawks, following in the footsteps of Panik and Stalberg before him. |
