Archibald played well when he had his opportunity. Simon has a little NHL experience. Blueger has played well lately and could be ok for a game or 2. I have always bought Dea was at least as talented as Rust and Wilson and he can play centre as well. As long as we have the big 3 up front we are in the game, they make mediocre players look very good. Still need to get these guys back by the playoffs, defence especially. - Dcoms
Gonna be more than just a couple of games. I would imagine Archibald would be the likeliest candidate since he's already seen some time this season and was serviceable.
You think a 36 year old goalie who hasn't had a 'high-level' season since 2010 and has given up 22 goals in the 7 games prior to tonight and has had more games with a sub .900 sv% than above (7 vs. 6) since February will stay at a high-level because of last night's amazing performance? - DeflatedPucks
I'm predicting bodly that he will finish the season top 5. (then Dallas will sign him for 5/3 ).

This will be a really tough matchup tonight...a win though, and Pens are the sole owners of 1st in the league. I find this very impressive with all the injuries they're dealing with.
Cant help but wonder how the pairings would look if Letang, Maatta and Daley could all come back tonight. Who would sit?

Definitely the toughest game of the road trip tonight. I just looked at the remaining schedule and the Pens have only a single 2 day break the rest of the season. Basically every other day until the playoffs with 1 back to back. That's rough considering so many guys are out.
I think Hainsey has earned a spot regardless who gets back. I think Streit looks a little old and tired. He still is very good offensively (great passer), but looks a little worn out in his own end.
My guess is Maatta and Streit will sit if everybody is healthy. I do wonder about how good Daley's skating will be if he's coming back right as the playoffs begin. He might stay out for an extra week or two.

This is where having those long stretches of off nights will come back to haunt us. At least Fleurys play is improving and Murray is coming off of a shutout. Id just alternate the hell out of them for now until one proves otherwise. Share the weight for now until the playoffs.

I think I'd much rather have Maatta in than Daley. Daley has just not looked as solid this year IMO, and while Maatta hasn't looked great, I still think he does a better job of limiting quality scoring chances against while still generating around the same as Daley on the ice. I am curious to what both those guys numbers would look like with a different partner.
