I am seriously rooting for them. If we got that 31st pick I have a feeling Popugyev could fall later in the draft due to his lack of production after he was traded. He would be an excellent pick and we know JB isn afraid of Drafting Ruskies.

I wonder what they will do with Thorton and Marleau next year?

Considering the guy protected 6 forwards, no he is an idiot. Add Granlund to protected and it is prob 100% accurate.

That was actually my mistake, I took out Hansen and forgot to put Granlund in his place....I'm sorry.

Loui Eriksson will be fine and is a good versatile winger for our young centre's going forward. His history has shown he gets better with time , so give him time. In year 3 I believe we will be far better off with him then Edmonton and NYI with Lucic and Ladd.

The twins are going to have a better year next year , whether its for another contract or its a farewell tour , either way i see them going out with a better all-around year.

We have youth and good prospects that are going to push for spots next year and add in a D-man trade for depth and we might be a wildcard contending team next year.

IMO our biggest weakness this year has been an abysmal PP. if we can get that up to the 18-20% range we will see more wins.

As an example if we would have split the 9 game losing streak we would be in the wildcard right now.

The sun will shine again on the Canucks and it might be sooner then some think

That would be phenomenal, however, nothing indicates that a quick turnaround is on the horizon.

On another team He's taking up a roster spot that a young prospect could challenge for at some point. It was a bad deal, simple as that.

I'm firmly in the corner that you need veterans to insulate the kids, you simply cannot have a lineup chalked full of youth, that's a disaster in the waiting. That said, Eriksson's contract is ridiculous for what he brings to the table, money wise that is; he made 8 million dollars in salary this season and he makes 8 million again next season.

Unlike most on here I'll wait to see if its a bad deal beyond the 1st season , i see him as the veteran leadership post Sedin , to help guide and bring along our prospects .
