JJ says Nobody knows anything.

I say that I have seen less Icehogs hockey this year ....so therefore I am wondering about the progress of the Swedish defenceman. They could be black aces.

The Swedish defenseman most likely compete for third pair nhl in Chicago since that is where they might fit....if they keep improving. It would be a huge plus if one of them comes along nicely.

The collegiate dmen it is almost a foregone conclusion.....have to play some AHL. Defense is a difficult position to step into the NHL without an apprenticeship

My guess is that Dahlgren might have a future. Norell, wait and see. Press is farthest away, if even yet considered a legitimate prospect.

Forsling is the real deal; he will be up to stay maybe next season. Svedberg and Pokke would have a sniff if they were close. Good enough = force your prize guys, Forsling and Kempny, to the bench.

There is also the other Carlsson and yet another Swedish dman two years now since a favorable WJC showing.

Dahlstrom?

I omitted Gustafsson. Love his great ability to make the pretty pass to a streaking forward. But even with his referred to as the best Icehogs dman this season (I asked their announcer) yes...still he will be forever a rag doll and therefore it will be difficult to gain NHL employment just maybe anywhere.

Just my read. There are AHL watchers on this blog who could correct me if I am.not seeing it as it is.

I'm watching the Flames/Jets game, I've watched a bunch of Jets games this year. Man, do the Jets need goaltending. If Darling hits free agency I expect Winnipeg to take a run at him.

Pick whatever stats make you feel better...

...I disagree completely.

When comparing remaining schedules what am I supposed to look at other than QOC to determine who has a tougher road ahead? Or let me ask what did you look at that made you think the Hawks have a tougher remaining schedule??

On off nights it's nice to watch other teams, it helps put context into the Hawks' games.

If a team offers Darling starter money the only way he sticks around is if Crawford is dealt (which is entirely possible). It will be an interesting off season, specifically in net.

Well, I dunno whether 8 or 14 would be better on Toews' wing but Hossa led the team in possession last night (pretty much I think) and is a better right wing than anyone not named Kane (by far).

Point being, I still think before the big dance starts, you'll see him back with Toews.

Hard to blame Crawford last night, Hawks seemed a step slow all night.

Liked what Tootoo brought more than Desi. Ras is not playing either because he's dinged up or the other reason, he's not all that good.

Kempny continues to improve, in small subtle ways.

Clock is ticking on Jerko. Right now, it looks like the lights are on—got the size and the skating—but nobody's home. Almost a total non-factor. Reminds me of what Scotty Bowman once said about Dmitri Nabokov. Looks great skating up and down the ice, but doesn't do anything.

Hey JJ, so what was the cost for say Tatar or Nyquist...because both of those guys showed last night they could have made a difference here...as you've mentioned the Hawks can put the word out that they were looking at Jurco for 'weeks' - but we all know that's not the case. And is this on McD and the front office because of the draft and they're need to have a big showcase as opposed to making another move...? Or is Stan gunshy after last spring when he needed a dman to go with Ladd and instead got us Weise and Flash.

Don't get me wrong here I think the Ladd move (unlike some folks) was a good one. Ladd led the team in hits in the Blues series and was playing well with Kruger and Hossa.

Jump ahead to this season and I love the Oduya move, but why didn't Stan get another scorer/lower line center...we've seen in the last two games that they've been beaten like a drum at the dot which doesn't bode well. Instead he gets a kid who shouldn't see the ice right now...but they're going to play him at least until he qualifies for the expansion draft.

And sure the Wild overbid for Hanzal and the kid White...? But what about Boyle was the cost that bad? Or Mitchell or McClement...? Or heck even Stafford...
We'll see how it plays out...

And the Hawks do this a lot. Beyond marketing. About doing the right thing.

God bless this young man, and prayers for his healing.
